Perfect for jobs difficult to reach
Made changing the staircase light bulb so easy.

Not fit for purpose.
The pole is very good quality. The suction cup doesn't stick to the bulb. It seems to be too thick and inflexible. It did come with a duster attachment which I have found very useful. That's the only reason that I haven't returned it. The sucker bit is useless.

Limited functiinalit
It did not meet my expectations. It only comes with a single suction cup, which is too large for most Gu 10 spotlightsAlan

Can't be used to change bulbs
This might be useful for cleaning purposes but changing lightbulbs is virtually impossible even if you follow the instructions to the letter. I've wasted nearly 50 quid on a very large pole to remove dust. Period.

Useless
DOES NOT FIT normal Ceiling light bulbs ie GU10 the plastic sucker is to big so it does not suck onto the bulb for removal.Do not buy it as they will only refund the cost of the sucker unit not the whole pole.

Worked as described in the instructions
I had a burned out LED flood in our kitchen dining area which has a cathedral ceiling. It is a reach with my normal six food step ladder, With recent hip problems it was not an option. Seeing this product, I purchased it with their shorter extension poll (10 foot I think). The old bulb came out easily, although it fell off part way down but did not break. It was an outdoor bulb that had ridges on the face which did not help the suction.. The new bulb (not outdoor) went in more easily than when I did it by hand on the ladder The suction released after untwisting the twine from around the poll. Other reviewers have commented on this small hassle; I agree. The poll is heavy and is probably akaward to use fully extended.. I'll find out in the family room.

It's a bit nerve-wracking, but it works!
I was more than a little skeptical about this tool, but purchased it in hopes that I'd be able to change the floodlights in my cathedral ceiling without the use of a ladder. Some tips for success that I found useful: (1) The suction cup didn't stick after just dusting the old bulb. I sprayed some glass cleaner on a microfiber cloth and used it on the end of the pole to wet-clean the old bulb. After it dried, the suction cup stuck to the old bulb. (2) Practice pushing the suction cup on the new bulb to get a feel for how hard you need to push the pole to get the suction cup to stick. The instructions say to "push lightly" on the pole to get the suction cup to stick but I had to push harder than what I would consider "lightly." I was able to remove the old bulb on my third attempt and the new bulb went in without a hitch!

Easy to use. Got the job done
This pole was easy to use, I was able to change a recessed floodlight above my staircase that could not be reached with a ladder. I’m an old lady with arthritic hands and found it hard to hold on to the string while turning the pole, but you need that string to release the new bulb. The suction cup worked great! I also ordered the window washing kit as I have a two story home. I’m trying that tomorrow! There was a microfiber feather duster in the box that I did not order, but I tried it out and OMG! I was able to dust my ceiling fans, remove all cobwebs and dust my stained glass window that’s so high up that it hasn’t been dusted in 20 years!!!! I love this thing!!!!! I’m heading over to the docapole store to see what other fantastic attachments they have.

Does The Job With Proper Preparation
I was able to remove and replace two floodlights that were about 20 feet high with a loss of one bulb that fell while installing it. During this procedure I learned a few things that I wish to pass on to other users of this device.1. Make sure to moisten the suction cup before attaching it to the bulb.2. It's best to have a partner with you who can catch any falling bulbs in a sheet or other soft landing media if suction is accidentally broken during a bulb removal or installation. The partner is also useful for unwinding the suction breaking string as you rotate the pole. Doing so will make sure the suction cup is not released accidently by the tightening of the string as it winds around the pole.3. Centering the suction cup on the bulb is crucial to rotating the bulb on either removal or installation. Failure to center will cause the release of suction on bulb rotation. On installation, centering of the suction cup on the bulb can be done more accurately before mounting the suction cup on the pole.4. Don't try to hurry the job. With patience, you'll be successful!

Light bulbs fell off when removing them.
I used this for replacing 3 standard light bulbs from approximately16 foot high ceiling. The pole is very sturdy and easy to extend and retract. I was not concerned that the pole would.not support the bulb however I had difficulty with the aim. As I got closer to the bulb the pole was swaying too much too get the suction cup to the light bulb. I used a ladder so I could support the pole better. That worked much better for me. Every bulb that I removed dropped off of the suction cup approximately 10 feet from the ground. Yes, I followed the directions. I did not have any problems putting the new light bulbs in except for the distance. It is harder than I thought it would be to put the light bulb into the socket. I think that with some practice it will be easier to use.
