So happy to find it on Amazon. I found this perfume in a small shop in Crozet Virginia beside an orchard. It smells wonderful!

I’ve been wearing this fragrance for years. This is the second bottle I’ve received from you that has a sprayer that does not spray! Last time the bottle was nearly empty, so I let it slide. But this just arrived!

It's a good thing I love the scent of this cologne, because just about every other one I've ever tried either makes me sneeze or gets me queasy after I've had it on for a while. I've bought perfumes that seemed very nice when I tried them in the store, but they overwhelmed me when I actually tried to use them. I remember scrubbing one off in an airport bathroom because it had sickened me in the cab on the ride out. But this one's so subtle I can't even smell it when I'm wearing it, though apparently men can. Maybe it's just superstition on my part, due to its name, but I think I detect more of a twinkle in their eyes when I've spritzed myself with it, and my husband just seems to love me a little bit more. In fact, I was devastated when I ran out right before we were leaving for our honeymoon and the Caswell-Massey that used to be down the street was out of stock. When they heard my dilemma, though, they got some in just in time. Sadly, that place has now closed, so I'm delighted to be able to order it through Amazon. It's never lost its magic. By the way, I'm only telling you about this because I've got my guy; who needs the competition?

Multiple pumps before cologne comes out. Love the product, but this is the 3rd bottle I have had trouble with.

Soft, musky, not too sweet. Kind of like spritzing a warm hug. My world of scent is based on mood (R.I.P. Jessica McClintock and your clean, lemony signature cologne). This one is comforting. A grown up aroma that evokes cashmere and logs on the fire, with a bowl of jasmine somewhere in the room. Caswell-Massey's website says they formulated Elixir of Love from a Victorian-era recipe found in their archives. That makes sense, since strong perfumes were considered to be in bad taste then (I still believe they are ... when everyone was wearing Opium in the 80s ... BLECH ... I called it "real estate lady in a power red blazer" perfume). Now that I think about it, I should spray a little into my hands and wipe them through my hair and neck. Hang on. Ahhhhhh. That's better.

i have loved this perfume since the 70's! still as good now as then.edited to add.... i have always loved this perfume BUT almost immediately the sprayer has failed. rather then mist, it streams. no amount of hot water rinse clears it. i feel i have wasted my money.second edit...the company never responded to my comment that the sprayer has failed and i can not remove the cap to replace it. very disappointed.

Got it for a friend at work. I can't stop following her around and sniffing her!

The scent is exactly what we were looking for; however the spray was clogged up and we couldn't get the perfume out.
