Works well
My pool is irregular shape so I had to extend the reel to 25' making it a bit difficult to maneuver. The plastic crank handle held up for the first year but broke during the second year of use. I wrote to the company and requested a new handle. I never heard back but 3 days later a new crank handle was in my mailbox, that's customer service!

18” above ground
Our above ground pool is partially in the ground leaving about 18” above the ground. This crank system works well, holding the solar blanket in place. We had to add sand bags to hold the legs in place as we get quite a bit if wind in our rural area. Instructions were helpful after we figured them out. This kit does include the attachment straps, so no need to buy extra line we did.

Good price, some modifications needed (velcro straps)
The instructions aren't great but you get the idea on how to assemble. Also, like other reviews here said, the velcro which holds the straps to the pole are pretty much useless. First heavy rainfall we got 4 of them came right off. You can easily fix this by getting some metal tapping screws. It could have been the weight of the cover (straps were adjusted too short) but nevertheless unacceptable. I have a 20x40 pool cover and the reel does sag in the middle when rolled up. Compared to my other reel it did not sag as much and probably made of stronger material. For the cost, overall you get what you pay for I guess. Let's just hope it lasts longer than the pool cover!

25-foot reel system
The reviews by other customers said that it bowed in the middle. I purchased the longer 25 foot reel system and let the poles overlap a little more. No bowing!Didn't even try the tape. I used the tape to position the straps on the roller and used stainless sheet metal screws with stainless washers to hold the straps to the reel system. No problem...The crank arm wobbles (I roll slowly ). I would suggest another washer on the reel system and a heaver bolt to lock it in.When rolling the cover onto the reel system make sure that both ends of the reel system are parallel or the cover will "walk" on the reel.I kept the straps on the long side because I am using it on the diving board side. I spaced the straps a little to the side of the diving board and placed the reel system just in front of the board. After it is rolled up I lift the end up and over the board and use the wheels to move it off the pool deck

Bad quality
I bought this Reel System. It cannot be installed by myself because parts problem. I told the seller: "There are two problems: (1) the Part #10 couldn't put into the Part #1. (2) The Parts "Tube A and B" need to be overlapped. The part of the overlap needs 3 holes. But there is only one hole. And the hole is too small, the Part #18 cannot put into it! So, the installation cannot be finished. I attached some photos for your references. Thank you very much. The part A needs to be put into the part B, but the size part B is smaller than the part A!"What I received a seller's response: "The screws are self tapping and need to be tapped to go all the way into the pole. You can drill any additional needed holes. Please submit a photo of the #10 not fitting into #1 as we have never had an issue with this. "I have get friends to help me and he spent several hours to expand the inside diameter of Part #1, then the Part # 10 installed. I had to buy a electric screw driver to make holes for installation! This is such the seller requested buyer to do!

very well made
Reel system works great and is made very well. The only advise I'd give is to have some weight for over the foot of the frame as it wants to tip over while working it alone. I used a small sand bacg

it's very easy to move around and get it out of the ...
This made life much easier around our pool. The instructions were a bit difficult to understand and I spent about 90 minutes total setting it up. The plastic handle feels a little cheap and I fear that it could break in the future. The center sags quit a bit when the cover is rolled up.Once rolled up, it's very easy to move around and get it out of the way.My 8 year old can roll the cover up himself in about 30 seconds. My wife and I can unroll/cover the pool again in about 2 minutes. It takes me about 5 minutes if I'm alone.I'd definitely recommend this reel if you're still manually pulling your solar cover off.

Solar pool cover reel.
Would recommend. Easy assembly. Easy to maneuver. NO SAG! After reading reviews with complaints of sagging. I Purchased 20 foot for a 16 foot width. It was definitely worth the few extra dollars. Sturdy reel which the kids manuver in middle of pool for volleyball. Quality product which compliments pool area. I would purchase again.
