My favorite Interstellar Brides book, with Jessica my favorite bride!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I highly recommend it to all lovers of SF romance.Grace Goodwin has created a rich background for her primary novels, which includes an interstellar twist on the old "mail-order bride" theme combined with elements of Star Trek, specifically the "Hive" which are unapologetic rip-offs of the Borg. That said, Ms. Goodwin amps things up a notch: the Hive are both meaner and smarter and are totally committed to Full Assimilation of all organic life-forms in our galaxy, which includes over 260 inhabited planets. The galactic war between the Coalition (yes, the Federation) has been going on for over 100 years, and the balance of power continually shifts without warning. In this story we once again meet Prince Nial, who was introduced in the first Brides book as the happy-go-lucky son of the ruler of the Prillon home-worlds, who have been fighting the Hive the longest. Prince Nial was captured by the Hive near the end of that story, and was rescued by his Commander but not before the Hive had begun their assimilation process. In this universe, the Hive tech is more like a cancer that literally replaces the organic beings' DNA. This makes healing the rescued warriors extremely difficult, to the point that obvious physical changes cannot be reversed or removed without killing the patient. When Prince Nial's daddy (the "Prillon Prime") discovers this, he forbids his son to return home and exiles him to the "Colony", a prison planet which is basically Australia in this story-line. But the young prince is no quitter, and convinces his Battalion Commander Deston to transport him and his "second" directly to Earth so he can claim his Bride, since Daddy Dearest also forbade him from mating and no brides are allowed at the Colony. Cmdr. Deston, who is happily mated to his Earth bride, agrees and sends Nial and his new friend Ander, a decorated war hero, directly to the Interstellar Bride's departure point in Miami.Meantime, Jessica Smith who unlike the previous brides is herself a military veteran, is smarting over being rejected just as she was awaiting transport. Her own life having been ruined by someone she trusted, she knows her life is still in danger while she remains on Earth, but is determined to bring down the "bad guy" before she's done. Needless to say, running directly into her Mate's arms while running from Hive scouts is literally the last thing she's expecting, and things just get better from there. :-)This story is action-packed, and Jessica is a true independent woman with both courage and sass to spare. I won't ruin any surprises in the story, but note that it is Jessica's blunt criticism of the way the warriors at the Colony are being treated by Nial's daddy that takes this excellent story AND her relationship with her mates in a whole different direction.I guarantee you'll read this book more than once, and will enjoy it each time you read it. You'll also gain a new perspective on the term "Veteran." Don't worry, there's plenty of erotic moments to enjoy as well. Also, Warden Egara from the Brides' Transfer Point on Earth has an expanded role in this story (beyond the normal Chapter 1 scene) and some tantalizing "bread-crumbs" about her own past with the Coalition. ENJOY!!

Loved it
Now this is what I’m talking about. The writing was great, the storyline kept your interest, there was action, Steamy scenes, and of course not one but two alpha alien males coming to get their mate on earth. Jessica could not believe it, not only was she framed and sent to prison, but her one chance to get away was to be an Interstellar Bride. The plan was the only one, yet they didn’t want her. Now she had nowhere to go and no one to go to. But she could prove who was behind all the drug deals, and the killings with the her camera instead of a gun. Little did she know Nial and Andre, her mates were on their way to get her. Not only did they save her, but they had some explaining to do, and planned to get her off planet earth. This story was so good, not only did it have to awesome gorgeous alien males, but a strong Ex military woman to stand up to them. They had a ways to go to gain back what was lost, but the three of them would get it done.

An alien rescue mission like you've never read before!
Taken by her Mates- Oh my goodness! Prince Nial! My favorite Prillon Warrior by far!Jessica is an Iraqi war vet and now a freelance photographer, only she's been framed and jailed on charges of selling drugs because she knew too much. Where better to get away from the people who assuredly want you dead than the Interstellar Bride program? Only once she matched to her perfect mate her transfer is denied, by the Prime himself. Jessica is heartbroken, no one wants her, not even the Aliens. But since her volunteering for the program and subsequent refusal commutes her sentence she's now a free agent. One that everyone thinks is off planet and she decides to use that loophole to find out and report the people who framed her. What she doesn't expect is for her mate, and the Hive, to come looking for her. Or to fall in love with him.Prince Nial has been contaminated by Hive technology and, in his father's opinion, undeserving of a bride because of it. Since his father is the Prime, ruler of the entire Prime world, he has the power to prevent the mating. Nial is done with his father's controlling ways though and will find his bride at any cost. (Does he have a cousin? I think he might be my match!)I'm a sucker for the Prillon Warriors and I love the story of Nial coming after Jessica with the odds stacked against him. I loved that, for her, it wasn't love at first sight, though she did understand he was there to help her, once he'd introduced himself. And I love that her veteran status is able to give him and the other contaminated warriors a new lease on life.

Repeated scenes over and over
I do not like this kind of storytelling. You have a scene. Then you have the same scene described by another character, and then a third time the same scene is described. It got old fast. I found myself skimming to the next scene. I then fast forwarded to the end of the story. If the repeated scenes had been deleted or even combined, it would have to had been labeled a short story. Tedious reading. I liked the plot line, and the characters, but the writing style ruined it

Orgasm arena
Framed for a crime Jessicas only option was prison or alien bride. After something goes wrong she is left unmated on Earth. That is until Prince Nial comes to claim his bride. Claim her he does. Master her him and his second Ander does quite throughly.Even strong women have to have someone to lean on, even if they have to fight themselves first. Big changes in the Prillion world are coming and that is something to look forward to.

Good read
I do enjoy these books, but I do wish the heroine would just tell that they need to explain things rather than expecting her to know what is going on. I liked that she had plenty if fight in her, but I did think that she gave in too quickly. Why do they always have to get turned on by spanking? Even if they do, they don't have to accept it as a punishment for voicing there wants. Spanking for sexual gratification is different to being hit as punishment. Great series though.

Don't bother
I love the genre but this was very poorly written. The way Jessica just accepts every weird & wonderful thing that happens to her is unbelievable. The fact that she doesn't even realise that Nial is part Hive (think Cyborg here) despite his silver coloured skin and one silver eye is implausible. I actually got bored with some of the sex scenes and just paged forward to see if an actual plot developed.Sadly this author missed a trick here too. There is bad blood between Nial and his father but Jessica helps him see himself in a better light and gets him all fired up about the injustice of it all. So I was fully expecting a great battle of wills and a real live battle where the "contaminated" rose up and fought back. But no - Nial never even got to see or talk to his father again. This could have been a great book in the hands of a better author. I won't bother with any more books by this one.

Not for me!
If I had downloaded the sample first, I wouldn't have wasted my money on this book. I detest stories written in the first person, given that the character is fictitious, it has always seemed somewhat ludicrous to me. Also, whilst I love a raunchy tale as much as the next person, I found the language rather crude and vulgar.

Absolutely fantastic book i loved the story of Jessica
Absolutely fantastic book i loved the story of Jessica, of Prince Nial and Ander how they were able to get her to breakdown her barriers and submit. To allow herself to loved and cared for something she had not had in a long time since she was little. Excellent read highly recommended.

Another enjoyable read from this author.
I enjoyed this book very much. The usual 2 aliens and their bride but I loved the idea of the "contaminated" males and also the twist at the end for the claiming ceremony.
