Safari makes a good product at a reasonable price that will last when other manufactures' products break. I started my Siberian kitten on the Safari 563 Cat shedding comb which has finer teeth and excellent reviews. As the kitten became an adult cat and her fur got much thicker, the Safari 563 Cat shedding comb grabbed too much and she complained. The Safari 564 Dog short-hair shedding comb has coarser teeth and does not grab as much. I am surprised that more people with long-haired and thick-furred cats are not using it.

To add to my review: I'm not sure what other people's technique is, but this time I again started by the head, as directed, and I went at it very lightly, so it was a surfacy stroke to start. It made the coat silky. I didn't think I was going deeply, but I still managed to pull up a good deal of the hot weather wedges from the undercoat, without being hard on the dogs. Using that method, I imagine I'll do it more than once a day, but it didn't take long, didn't stress any of the dogs, and their coats looked nice. I'll get more out later.

This works great for my Ragdoll. The teeth on this comb are sturdy and does a great job getting through all her hair.

Fantastic product! I use it on Newfoundlands, Great Pyrenees, St. Bernard, ect... Pretty much those large breeds that Furminators don't quite get the job done on. It really grabs the undercoat and gets a good amount of it out. I recommend for anyone that has one of those breeds and need to do that combing in between grooms.

I have 6 dogs, 5 of which are long haired and like to have a sturdy comb in each room. This comb is both sturdy and practical in shedding the undercoats.

almost useless. We have a black lab who sheds constantly. This comb does not remove any loose hair. I do not recommend it .

Amazing tool for a long haired cat. I purchased this to use of my purebred Main Coon cat and it does wonders. It detangles very well and leaves the coat looking very nice. The handle has a nice sturdy grip and the metal is very solid. it has a very good quality feel. I would recommend this to anyone with a long haired cat.
