Quite a doorstopper of a book
My husband and I are planning on getting a travel trailer soon. My parents, many years ago, were members of the Good Sam Club and always had nothing but good things to say about their membership. Now, we won't be joining the Club until we actually get our trailer but I wanted to start doing some research - on campsites, etc - so did order their guide. This guide was just what I hoped for, with info on U.S., Canadian, and Mexican campgrounds with listings of their facilities and accommodations and 2013 prices. It is a huge book at close to 1,700 pages. It did come with state (and Canadian province) index tabs that I was able to attach so it is easier to find areas we are interested in.It doesn't list federal campgrounds so another book I think is very helpful isΒ Guide to Free Campgrounds: Includes Campgrounds $12 and Under in the United States (Don Wright's Guide to Free Campgrounds) .This Good Sam book was just what I expected and wanted. I think it'll be a great help when we actually are able to get on the road and is a good reference for planning right now.

Everything You Need
We have been waiting for the new RV Travel Guide and now that it is here, it is everything you need in one great book. We are new to RV life and this is so helpful to the new enthusiast. Now we will be able to look in one convenient place to see where the parks are and what they offer, along with al the other important things you need to know to navigate with confidence. Along the way on our first journey in the motor home, someone recommended this book to us. We decided to wait for the new addition and now that it is here, we are ready to hit the road again (this time with confidence that only information can bring).

Ready, get set, GO!
My goodness! This is amazing! I was a bit overwhelmed until I found the alphabet tabs. I labeled the areas I wanted to look at more closely and proceeded to find the answers to where to call to reserve spots during my camping trip. I found restaurants, showers, puppy areas, you think it up and I think you may find it in this amazing book! Any one interested in seriously going on a well planned, well coordinated RV trip you absolutely must have this book! Since receiving it and figuring out how to find things, I've thought of at least three other places I want to go in the future! Really fun and informative!

Should be very handy
We have many books for some areas of the country, most listing public campgrounds. This all in one should prove useful on a cross-country trek later in the year. The listings for many of the public campgrounds have few details, but this will be a good starting place. While internet searching can be handy, trying to map a trip and see what is available for camping along several possible routes is frustrating by depending on the 'net.

Very incomplete
In past years we used earlier editions this directory, and found them useful but not perfect (nothing is!). We bought the 2014 edition to help plan a cross country trip. Boy, what a disappointment. LOTS of campgrounds we are familiar with in our own area are just not included. As other reviewers have said, the reviews that are included are not particularly comprehensive. I'm OK with that. On the road we're helped just by knowing that a place exists. We can drive by and look at it --- if we know its there. But with this edition, for lots of campgrounds, you don't even get told the place exists. I've since read that campgrounds have to pay a fee to be included in the Good Sam directory. Sheesh. You will get a MUCH better list of campgrounds by searching Google Maps for "camping near Amarillo" on your smart phone.

camping guide for campground
Good informational content ; beats woodall in cost; appears to not have maximum trailer lengths in public campgrounds; Is it that the public campground has all lengths? Or not posted. The book is accommodating for "Good Sam Members with big rigs.

The Travel Guide was very useful in finding suitable campgrounds and also giving us options ...
We had to make a cross country trip by pickup and towed RV. The Travel Guide was very useful in finding suitable campgrounds and also giving us options between and among the existing campgrounds in the area. All the information we made use of was correct and up to date, as far as we could tell.

A must have for RV travel
This book is a must have for RV'ers traveling across the US. Clear directions to campgrounds and facilities as needed. Would like to see it have more precise information regarding state campgrounds. It is lacking that information which can be a problem at times. This is available in disc form which is handy for use in a laptop.

Good for private parks
Not much on Canada's west coast and largely ignores national and state parks. You'll need another source for those. Otherwise good.
