Dr. Brookey is a really intelligent guy! The book was great (even though it was required reading for his class).

An absorbingly written account on the way films and video games have grown and begun to merge over the years. If you're looking for a thorough history on either of the industries then this is not the book for you, however if you want a concise, memorable comparison which draws them together then look no further. Some interesting postulation for the future makes for a thought provoking read. My interest in convergence culture has increased tenfold after reading this book, and I will be seeking out others on the same topic which may offer a broader or more detailed scope.
