New Thinking on Supply Chain Metrics
The topic of supply chain metrics has been long overdue for creative thinking and a different type of approach. Lora's storytelling style helps the reader understand where she is going with her new orbital metrics by experiencing the reactions of her 'client' and his team to their independent thinking. Lora's approach for me is a good blend of finance and supply chain. Quantitative analysis results by Industry are found throughout the book. One takeaway that I did not expect is that progress in these integrated metrics over time is less than one would expect.Lora's discussion of supply chain metrics need to be understood by every Supply Chain Leader at a minimum. I also think it would make great required reading for Presidents and their staffs - so they can understand what the concept of shared metrics really means.

Learn what you need to measure
I used this book to continue learning about inventory management and forecasting. Then taking these subjects to see how they are measured. The book is in a loose novel format that takes you through a company’s key discussions on measuring Supply Chain success. I like books that have someone asking questions and an expert explaining a solution or what something means. A great book for anyone new to the disciplines of Supply Chain or logistics and wants to learn more.

A first class series of supply chain Novellas
This is a real home run!!! It is a thick read and it will take you some time to get through it, but it is a tour de force on change management. The author uses the novella approach to provide the reader with methods and techniques and especially process to redo the way they look at how to manage your supply chain by measuring what is important. What interested me personally was the use of what the author refers to as an Orbit technique to examine the interfaces over time of fairly standard financial measures. As an academic I was very interested in how the author came about choosing a fairly narrow set of metrics. 5 stars.

Agree with Eric T. and the the reviewers. One point that needs highlighting - the book provides critical insights to help CPG service providers better understand the industry that they are serving. The graphs provided me a mental model that helps me understand the different requests that customers were making and why each company needs are different despite being direct competitors. The data Lora presents helps explain many of the motivations and challenges that CPG companies have. If you are a service provider to this industry - read this book,

Essential for a Supply Chain Professional’s Bookshelf
I bought Lora’s book to reinforce what I already knew and learn what I didn’t. Eminently readable, she makes a dry subject come alive. Highly recommended!

Punktabzug.

Disappointing
Disappointing. The few insights are buried into a narrative style which creates too much text and does not bring a lot of value. What should have been a 20 pages interesting article has been turned into a 360 boring pages ...
