Projects from top designers? I expected something more I guess. There are a few things I would make and customize but overall they were not projects worthy of my time. Maybe it's me, and just not what suits me. Glad I got it used and didn't pay a lot.

Wish the shipping could have been a little faster, but otherwise, very nice.

book is great, has some great projects and easy gifts to make for that last minute gift that you may need! All are pretty easy to do, none are too complicated and most sewers should have all the supplies on hand allready!

I finally replaced my sewing machine this year and have been having a blast using the new one. I especially appreciate this book because it gives me an opportunity to sew projects that I can share with my friends and family. The book is chock-full of great patterns and ideas for gifts to give to others - and have fun while making them.I love all the projects but some of my favorites include the Totally Taupe Table Runner. It's in shades of taupe with circular designs throughout. It's rectangular with a v-shape at the end. The Wheat-Stalk Throw Pillow is lovely. It has off-white wheat-stalks on a tan background and would be great for an accent pillow. The backing is the same off-white as the wheat-stalks. The In-Bloom Pillow is vibrant with color that measures approximately 20" x 20". It has an appliqued flower covering most of the bright and luscious background. I am an avid knitter and many of my friends knit. This makes the Knitter's Project Bag a perfect gift for myself and others. It's easy and practical. The front shows a ball of yarn with two needles appliqued on it. There is a pocket on the side for needles or accessories. The Swingy Shoulder Bag is as nice as any Vera Bradley creation and easy to make for yourself or others. It's in hues of pink and purple with a flower motif.The above are just a few of the wonderful projects in this book. It is a wonderful addition to any sewer's library and you don't have to be advanced with the machine to use the patterns. I consider myself an advanced beginner and am able to make most of the patterns in this book. They are enticing and a great way to show you care about someone.

This book is a joy to look at with the colorful photos of handbags and totes, pillows, quilts, table runners, bracelets, a curling iron case, and upcycled projects including a cup cozy and wristlet purse, plus many more...25 fun projects in all by top designers.Many of the projects include full size patterns to trace or photocopy, and the rest are given as measurements for cutting. There are plenty of photos and diagrams that accompany clear instructions that even a novice seamstress will be able to follow. Some of the items require machine sewing and others are hand-sewn. The first project that caught my eye was the felt journal cover that is sized to cover a composition notebook, but I will revise it to fit sketch pads as Christmas gifts for the little girls in our family who love to draw and color.I'm a fan of craft books by Martingale & Company and this one met all my expectations with the color photos, glossy pages, and inspiring crafts.I received a copy of this book for review from the publisher but the opinion of it is my own and was not solicited, nor was a positive review required.

There are times that I want a book filled with the work of one designer, and there are times I am interested in looking at a variety of different ways to approach the same question. This book has 25 different projects from various designers all answering the question, "What should I make for my friend?" I love that for a 'what to make for a gift' book. As always, the photographs are great, the patterns clear and the quality of the book 100% Martingale/Patchwork Place. This is a book that you'll want on your shelf if you prefer handmade to purchased for your gifts.

To my eye, Martingale books are a publisher that has got everything right, no matter which title you choose. Layout, ease of use, instructions, design and presentation are always spot on. In this book you'll find table toppers, runners, wall quilts, pillows, cushions, bags, aprons, a journal cover and more. Favourite picks for me are the totally taupe table runner and the denim scarf. Many of these projects can be made quickly. This is a varied collection to suit a wide taste and age range. It's for everyone who loves quilting and sewing. A great book as a gift but also to make gifts for friends and with the Christmas season approaching, we ought to get stitching. This review first appeared on Karen Platt's book review websites.

This was a present for a friend who sews. I was disappointed that it was cheap-looking, I expected much better for the high price.

Very disappointed with this book, not a lot of original ideas from what can be found in other books.

An absolutely beautiful book, well illustrated with lots of lovely projects. I can't wait to get started making gifts for all my family and friends.
