Great Information
This book provides detailed information for Luther's Small Catechism book. I would recommend it for teachers of catechism.

Luther's Stuff
Good rendition of Luther's work. As far as the content itself goes, I have to first get Luther's anti Semitic rhetoric out of the way, as it does pop up even here a few times. If we isolate out Luther's "issues with interfaith relations" (to put it lightly), he's got a lot of earthy points about Christianity's core sacraments and how to practice them as a Christian without using them in the more vainglorious ways that the Catholic Church had at the time. Interestingly, as a side note from reading this and other sources, Luther as an individual may not have been on board with a lot of Augustine's thoughts. Luther also acknowledges the new body of a Adam in Christ which is associated in other circles with the early church and even the new age movement. Most of Luther's writing style is blunt and to the point. The reformation was a neat thing.

easy to use tool
Some of the printing was small, but well organized. Convenient size and great additional discussion guides.

Good Kindle addition with one exception
The large catechism is designed to be a study book. It needs to have a tool that allows you to "jump" both ways between the questions and the paragraphs that contain the answers to the questions. On your kindle you have to note the location and then page back until you find the paragraph, then you can jump to location to go back to the beginning of the question section. This is really annoying when you are trying to study the material. HELP! I do like the portability of it on my Kindle however - it just needs to have this tool added.

Jesus died for our sins.
Prayers, songs, confessions, order of service, Psalms, letters all say Jesus died for our sins. That has got to make you smile.

Wordy, not a fast read.
It had been over 60 years since my confirmation, and Being older wanted to “study” the writing. Luther is wordy (I knew that) however I was looking to get a bit inside the head of the man. I believe this helped me.

Read it again for the FIRST time.
Perfect. Love ❤️ it better than electronic version. Pick it up any time and start where I left off. So deep for me. Gives me plenty to meditate on. Onlike the scanning at a younger age. And so much more to digest than the Small Catechism.

not sure how I was going to like it but sorry I had not read it sooner
Must read. I have been a Lutheran my whole life but have never read the Large Catechism. I joined a Bible Study and this was the book, not sure how I was going to like it but sorry I had not read it sooner. I think this is a book I will reread my whole life.
