Way too large. These would be ideal for an adult with large hands. However for elementary school children who have skinny long fingers they do not hug the fingers well there is a lot of sloppy play in the grass defeating the purpose of these all together. They are bulky and slide up and down on the pencil way too easily.

I bought these for my 4 year old. It helped so much with him holding the pencil correctly and being more accurate with what he was writing. I have noticed now after a month that he already has finger memory on the correct way to hold a pencil.

The material seems pretty sturdy. The size was a little bigger than I expected; bought it to help my 7-year-old. Over all, good product.
