The fan on my HP laptop died on me, so I ordered this fan. It arrived within a week, which is really fast considering where I am at. It's been a few months now and there are no problems.Only drawback was taking the laptop apart. Mainly because I didn't follow the instructions that I found online very well. So now as usual I have extra screws laying around, my WiFi antenna isn't ran correctly, and my touch pad doesn't work. Way to lazy to take it all apart again to correct those issues.BUT AT LEAST THE FAN WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Strangely enough this blower works better than the one that came with the Laptop (HP DV7). now the laptop does not shut off randomly anymore.Note: I also added more thermal paste (artic silver 5) to the videocard and processor as the one that came with the laptop seemed baked to a crisp. BE CAREFUL WITH ARTIC SILVER, it will short your MB if spilled

I installed this no problem ran great for two weeks. I gave the computer to my friend and not abusing it managed to bend the casing causing a ticking noise that drove me insane. I had to pull everything out again, because the fan is under pretty much everything on my laptop, find the spot it was rubbing and bend it out. Runs great still. If you own a HP DV7 take care never to pick it up or apply pressure to the area of the case where the fan sits or you may find yourself doing the same.

The fan in my HP DV7 began to fail after 5 years of living with two cats and fair bit of dust.This fan was an exact replacement and fit perfectly into the laptop.

Was the wrong fan for the computer. Said it would fit a HP Pavilion DV7-3085DX. Not even close. Had to get the correct one while the computer was in pieces.

Does not fit the dv7-6163us with Intel Processor and Intel onboard graphics adapter. The vendor should be a little more specific of model numbers this fits. They have since changed the description. Now you have no idea what this fan goes to.Shipping was fast and the quality of the fan seems to be good. Just doesn't fit my computer.

I bought this for my laptop, and although the part number matches the replacement requirement, the fan speed in insufficient to cool as needed. Even after replacing the thermal putty and cleaning the heatsink the machine averages 80C.

My wife's laptop kept shutting down unexpectedly and we had to wait several minutes in order for it to reboot, so I suspected it was over heating. I got this fan for very little money and replaced the one in the laptop. The computer now can properly cool the CPU and stops shutting down. It was just a pain to get to it inside the computer.
