These are the seals to get if you have bad valve guides
I installed BTR stem seals and they lasted 500 miles before my LS swap turned into a smoke show on startup. My valve guides showed show play when I removed the BTR seals for these and I didn't expect much before my next smoke show. Knowing that I would need to get back inside the engine for new heads I didn't sweat the chance to try a different seal type over the BTR hat style seals. I'm 5,000 miles in with no noticeable oil use or smoke still with valve stem play and these seals just work. If your stems are brand new maybe the hat style seals will work, if you have stem play these are your only hope to get some more miles before tearing the heads off your ride.
