Great write in the rain. These are excellent books that last in all weather conditions and work great. Pencils are better than pen on these books.

I use this book for writing lesson plans and workouts for swim lessons. It sits next to the pool and even gets dunked in the water, and the writing stays clear, the paper stays intact. This book is amazing, and the kids are fascinated by the technology!

These notebooks are awesome. I will use these as long as they make them.

Been using this same tablet for over 20-years, they work. You can open them so they lay flat, the pages don't tear, you can erase pencil in them, they take Sharpies easily, and they are small enough to easily pack in just about anything. I love these things.

I purchased this notebook for an Ornithology class, and it was really useful. We had lab for 10 weeks, and each time we had to stand in cold, heavy rain for 3 hours watching birds and recording our observations. The notebook paper held up really well, but after about 2 hours, it did get a little soft. I used a pencil, and it smeared a little bit, but it was still readable, wet or dry.Word to the wise though: when writing with a pencil, don't bother trying to erase, because the paper ends up covered in a smeary blob of graphite. Also, the spiral ring is not large enough to stick a pen or pencil into, so you will have to carry that somewhere else on your person. Unless you have rather large pockets, the notebook rarely fits into a coat or pant pocket, so you might have to hold it as well. This became pretty tricky when trying to look through binocs and hold a field guide and write in the notebook, because I had to hold everything all at once.Overall: the notebook holds up well in heavy rain for about 2 hours at a time and dries well, and it's inexpensive. I definitely recommend buying it, or possibly one in a smaller size so it can more easily fit in a pocket.

We use these to take notes on our chemical usage in a wet environment. As long as I don't stupidly choose a gel pen, these are great. And even then, the problem lies with the pen, not the notebook. Gel pens run everywhere when wet! Ballpoints are the way to go! I have this order on a subscription. I've never seen anything that can touch it for functionality.

Bought for field work with the expectation or lots of rain. Got lucky with the rain but the notebook did its job well. Only thing is you can't erase the pencil markings or it will ruin the wax coating but overwise perfect. First time using the rite in the rain products and may use again in future.

These a notebooks are the best outdoor notebooks for travel or fieldwork.
