Easy to Use and Plenty of Soap in Each Sponge.
About a week before my surgery, the nurse told me I would need to buy an antibacterial soap to clean my skin the night before my sugery and the morning of. He suggested Dial but I have a fragrance allergy so that wasn't an option. I looked and looked and looked and found out that it's really challenging to find a fragrance free antibacterial soap on short notice! Nothing local, not even the betadine soap! So I went on Amazon and the only option for Prime were these Surgical Scrub Sponges. I wasn't sure how much soap was in each sponge so I ordered 4 sponges so I would have 2 sponges for each shower. One sponge was definitely enough for each shower. I was able to clean my entire body the way the package recommended (lather up and wait 3 minutes, rinse off and then lather up a second time and wait 3 minutes then rinse off and get out) with plenty of soap left in the sponge. They were easy to use (the scrub brush wasn't attached to the sponge), didn't dry my skin out and the surgeon said it was a good option. I was very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend.

The standard iodine scrub for procedure prep
I picked this up because I've become prone to skin infections after tattoos in the last few years, and I was tired of my tattoos getting damaged, nevermind the trouble of treating the infection and convincing doctors what will and won't work on my skin and these infections. I'd tried a number of things to ensure I arrived with the cleanest possible skin, and still always got an infection anyway. This changed all of that. Right before I leave to get my tattoo I scrub with this in the shower depending on the location, or if it's a forearm for example, in their bathroom on site. Once that's finished, I wipe down with a chlorhexidine prep wipe and let that dry, then I'm ready for tattooing. Two tattoos in three sessions (one very large), and so far, no more infection problems.Keep in mind, since this is iodine, it will stain the hell out of your clothes as well as several types of surfaces. Use it while clothed/around fabrics at your own risk.Of course, your mileage may vary, and infection control and management is a process that must be followed carefully. Use good techniques to ensure the best results (you can look up how to properly sterilize an area with an iodine prep sponge online/on YouTube). But for less critical procedures like a tattoo, this could help resolve infection problems for you like it did for me.(Please note I am NOT a medical expert, and this is not medical advice, nor am I capable of giving advice to you. This is purely based on my layman's knowledge of infection management and my own experiences.)

Use pre surgery to help prevent antibiotic resistant infection, a rampant problem currently
Even if your doctor doesn't recommend using this the morning of and night before surgery, I would strongly suggest you use these.I learned about these kind of scrubs from a hand doctor here in San Diego, one of the top in his field (since retired), he recommended I use this before bed and in the morning all around the area to be operated on (in that case was my wrist and hand), for about a minute or more each time.Hospital acquired infections are no joke, they are on the rise, and even healthy young people are getting them, and they are ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT!Do yourself a favor and use this on the area to be operated on , and surrounding areas, at the minimum it will do no harm , and the maximum may save your life.

Probably not the intended use.
As a mountain biker these are awesome to have in your first aid kit. Perfect for cleaning up road rash. We all take diggers from time to time. The bristles on this sponge are perfect for cleaning out dirt from a wound and helping to prevent infection.

Needed for a surgical procedure
Drug stores don’t carry specialty items much any more. I didn’t need a whole bottle of scrub, just needed a single scrub brush for a minor surgery. It was a bit pricey, but it’s what I needed, so that was fine. It was exactly what I needed, packed in a sterile package.

Comes sealed
Haven't tried it, hope I never do. Got it for my home SHT emergency box. It came fully sealed and iodine inside seemed to be fine. That's enough for me.

Good for GOOD bacterial cleansing.
I used it for a minor pre-surgury. I felt confident that I was really clean. It was very similar to a product given to me by a hospital prior to knee surgery.

Small sponges
These are smaller than the ones that I received in the hospital. Worked fine.
