HONEST REVIEW WITH TIPS!!!! It’s long, but worth the read!
I found out about poly gel nails from TikTok videos. For months, I thought about trying it out. Since I was stuck in quarantine I decided to look the product up in more depth. I reviewed a plethora of different brands (went down so many rabbit holes, sheesh) and watched a few tutorial videos. I decided it was best to go with this one for a few reasons. Here are 10 NEED TO KNOW TIPS:1. Almost ALL products are gonna have at least one bad review (probs more if it has more reviews). This one was the best one to me and I’m glad I picked it.2. If you aren’t a professional then it’s gonna take PRACTICE. Don’t think you can just become a doctor by watching Grey's Anatomy... c’mon now.3. It was easy to use compared to actual acrylic and not sticky if you use the correct solution.4. I bought my own UV/LED nail light on amazon for like $19.5. I also bought my own primer (ITS NEEDED) & I used a 70% Alcohol solution to help shape/mold the gel.6. Start off with shorter nails FIRST. Don’t get cocky your first time and try to do some long stiletto nails when you haven’t even figured out everything.7. Prep your nails before anything. Prep. Prep. Prep. That means, wash ya nasty hands, dry off, file/shape/trim, push back or trim cuticles, file your whole nail gently (the whole nail people), buff a little, and add your primer or dehydrator. DO IT. IT MAKES THEM LAST LONGER. Help get your moneys worth.8. Speaking of lasting longer... Don’t glob a lot of gel on at first! You should start off small and add more if needed- don’t be wasteful.9. Also, make sure to not press too hard on the nail forms to decrease any spillage or bubbles (clean around the cuticle area with alcohol dampened brush to remove excess).9. Follow the instructions Aka: apply base coat, cure under lamp 30-60 sec, apply poly gel with brush that is slightly dampened with alcohol solution, shape gel, cure for 90-130 sec (better safe than sorry, so cure them long), then WIPE OFF with a cotton ball that has rubbing alcohol on it to get rid of the stickiness, shape/file the whole nail even if the shininess is tempting to keep (this is important), apply top coat evenly, cure again for a long time, wipe off again with alcohol, apply cuticle oil, and boom you’re done.I hope this can at least help one person. I love it and everything came perfectly packaged. The colors are great, file works wonderfully, brush/applicator is nice quality, nail forms fit my nails, and came with a lot of them. The tubes are “small” to some people, but if you use my tips on not being wasteful and how to make them last long then you’ll be fine. Goodluck!!

Great
I've been doing my own nails for almost two years now. I taught myself through hundreds of hours of videos online. I waited some time before writing this review. Poly gel takes time to learn the technique. This product stands the test of time, with proper technique. The kit comes with everything you need, although I messed up and didn't buy the one with dual forms. I've had my mani on for over a week and still holding on. I used dip powder on top of my polygel extensions. Would recommend this product.

First time polygel user
My first time trying polygel! Loved this set, and they feel stronger and healthier than Acrylics. Though I’d recommend using paper forms or applying polygel over tips than using the dual forms it comes with.Pros: easy to work with and fix mistakes, great coverage, good shade range, multi useCons: incredibly sticky, in squeeze tubes and not pots, time consuming until you practice enough to get faster

Wonderful and easy for beginners
I’m a beginner and wanted something easier than acrylic to do at home. Super easy there is a moment of learning and the clear is a different consistency that’s harder to work with but I’d say it’s a wonderful product. Seems to be on sturdy will update to say how long it lasts (did mine with the beetles gel polish as well)

Hard but good once you learn
This was really nice to use once you got the hang of it however, I had to do my nails quite a few times before getting it to work properly or actually look good. I did have to buy a nail drill/file to thin out the nails it’s difficult to have the Fake nail on top of the gel to stay in place while under the UV light without having to hold it at the same time, I guess it just needs a lot of practice but once you do it and get the right tools, it works and saves money from going to a salon.

The smell is relentless and life ruining!
I normally use Gelish but I wanted to try Beetles because of the amount of colors and types available and of course because of the economical price. I really wanted to love it. However, I did a trial run on just two nails to make sure I wouldn’t have any sort of negative reaction (PLEASE find reviews about these reactions—it’s very scary). Granted, I wasn’t using a dust collector and I should have been but I never use one with Gelish. The SMELL of this was pungent, odd and STRONG right out of the box. I’m not new to gel polish. I’ve used it since it came out years and years ago and have used pretty much all of the salon brands. But the smell with this one nothing I had ever experienced. It was from another world and not in a good way. I went ahead and did my two trial nails hoping that the smell would dissipate after I finished them. The nails came out well and I was happy with the performance of the products. But the smell did not lessen whatsoever. My Dyson air filter started reporting my air quality as “severe” for chemical levels. It had gotten late so I went to bed despite my concern about the continued strong smell. The next morning, the smell had permeated my entire home (around 2500 square feet) including every textile that is in use in my home (bedding, throw blankets, clothes, etc.). My Dyson and Guardian air filters are both still screaming at me warning me of high levels of chemicals present in the air. Fortunately, I live in a warm climate where the temperature today is a mild 68 degrees and there’s a strong ocean breeze. I’ve had to open every window and door and turn on all ceiling fans and stand alone fans as well as every air purifier I own. It’s worth mentioning that my HVAC system is only four years old and has a top of the line filtration system to include two different types of UV lamps so I also have it running on high. I’m having to do everything and anything to try and get this smell to go away. Today I will have to spend the day washing every textile that’s been exposed and dusting and vacuuming every surface and item that exists in my home. I also have a sore throat, a headache that won’t quit and I’m coughing a lot. My two dogs are coughing, too. Needless to say I removed the two trial nails and polish as fast as I possibly could. Despite washing my hands over and over I can’t get the smell off them, either. This is crazy and it’s probably dangerous!! Please save yourself the trouble, save your lungs, and save your home by NOT purchasing any Beetles products. It’s just not worth it.
