This is a great book, and gives the parent lots of background on homeopathy, and gives the practitioner wonderfully-painted pictures of kids needing different remedies.

Meet my expectations

With so much information now emerging about the dangers of prescribing psychotropic drugs for children, I wish we'd paid more attention to this book when we first discovered it. There are some excellent ideas about treating children with ADHD.While I cannot attest to the efficacy of these methods for these particular purposes, I can say that homeopathy worked wonders for early chronic ear infections in one child, and was also very useful in controlling sinus infections and allergies in another family member.The difficulty with emotional and learning disabilities, however, is that parents are put under a great deal of pressure by schools and teachers with zero patience, or skill in handling behavioral issues. The immediate fix is often sought, and if it is not found, parents are threatened with expulsion, even from public schools.That kind of pressure appeared very early in our situation, and we missed the opportunity to handle things in a different way, with potentially very serious harmful effects as a result. We cannot undo the damage that may have been caused by years of pharmacological cocktails. But we would advise other parents to take things slowly, and not to succumb to school and administrative pressures to drug their kids from an early age.Try homeopathy if you can. It is not a cure all. On the other hand, it might just help --- and could be far less harmful than other potential courses.
