NOTE: the thread has to go through to the inside of the glove, to be in contact with your finger, or it doesn't work. At first, I just stitched, like embroidery, a small patch on the outside -- and it didn't work. I removed that and then ran the thread both inside the glove and across a section of the outside. This works great! Now I can operate my phone on my motorcycle (while stopped, e.g., at a stoplight) while wearing gloves. Highly recommend.

Slightly thicker than normal thread. I sewed a square into my glove's index finger using the seams along the finger so that I did not poke a bunch of holes in the fingertip. Important that your finger makes contact with the thread otherwise will not work. I can now use my phone with my leather riding gloves.

Avid Pokemon Go player here, needed to keep my hands warm as I play during winter. This is a great solution and much better than the gloves trying to sell you on being "touch screen compatible" when often they aren't. A tip for increasing conductivity and reducing headaches with trying to make it work: sew the pad on the outside as best you can going through to your finger (I wear the glove on the finger I need sewn) then flip the finger and repeat on the inside, being careful to overlap on the thread you put in the outside (now inside out) part of the glove. This will create a nice surface area for your finger to interact with, and complete the circuit between your finger, going through the glove entirely, and to your phones screen. Now I barely have to tap to make it work! I made my pads semi thick just to be sure but you can play with however much you need first and add from there accordingly.

Initially I sewed this thread onto my mitten and it didn’t work. I was very disappointed and was ready to write a negative review, then I went to YouTube and watched a video on how to use this kind of thread. I’ve re-sewed my glove ensuring that the thread touched my finger on the inside of my glove and that made all the difference. If you tried this and it didn’t work, make sure there is a significant surface on the inside of your glove touching your finger. It’s conductive thread so it has to touch your finger to work.

This thread works to modify gloves/fingertips so you can use your gloves with a touchscreen phone. Of course, you have to sew the thread properly, which isn't hard. As people mentioned, the thread needs to be placed where your fingertips contact the glove fabric and the touchscreen. So put the glove on firmly, touch your phone and use a sharpie to draw marks on the fingertips where they contact the touchscreen. When you sew the thread, use a hooked/curved needle and make big loops through the fabric. Remember the thread needs to be in contact with the touchscreen and your fingertip simultaneously, so make sure to use a generous amount of thread on BOTH sides of the glove: outside and inside. Again, my gloves don't look pretty, but they work. I modified my thumb, pointer and middle fingers so that I can tap and pinch and zoom easily. With two spools of thread, you have plenty to modify 4-5 gloves. I only do my right hand glove. The gloves don't look pretty but it works.

My car and electronic devices have refused to respond when I try to tap their buttons when wearing my favourite gloves, or any others except the one pair with conductive thread in the tips of the index fingers. I Swiss darned (duplicate stitch, which follows the same path as the knitting stitches) this thread in over the pad of the index finger of my dominant hand, but embroidery stitches, or simple sewing would work too. It not only works on my devices, but also on my car, which is incredibly stubborn. I will probably work a few more rows in, as I realize now that I tap with the lower part of that finger pad more than the tip, but it works. The yarn is rather stiff, and hard to thread into the eye of the needle provided, even when using the needle threader in the case, but with persistence, it does eventually thread. I will look for a needle with a larger eye before using it again. Other than that, just beware that the kit is very small, and elusive. Put it somewhere which helps contain it, without swallowing it up. I had difficulty with its going missing before I could get my glove darned. Absolute trash. "Conductive thread"? Well after sitting there and stitching up a bunch of gloves and not working any better, I was wondering maybe there wasn't enough contact between my fingertip and the thread or maybe not a big enough contact area on the phone. So decided to try an independent test removing the gloves from the equation and literally stuck a piece of cork between my finger and wrapped it with a bunch of the thread to make a huge contact point. Didn't work. So either I don't conduct electricity or the thread doesn't work, seeing as I'm typing this right now with my fingers, I'm going to bet the thread doesn't work. Yeah, this stuff is trash.

The wire thread seems good but my first attempt on a leather glove was not successful. Perhaps I will try again but I am exploring all my options. Graphite on fingertips worked great but leaves a residue on your fingers and the screen.

Extremely pleased at the price when you compare it to the "by the meter" items. All the conductive gloves I have bought are never very good or only have the index finger conductive. I use this to patch index, middle and thumb. Remember to sew all the way through so the thread on the inside touches skin. This amount will last years.
