I purchased this cabinet and the matching TV console via Amazon. When assembling the TV console I noticed, how oddly SimpliHome placed the hinges of the doors to the console. There’s an extra block of wood on the console sides that the door hinge screws into. But with the hinges that were included, the screw holes went in between that block, and the edge of the side, which is a very odd place to put screws. When putting the doors on the console, it was very hard to make the doors even and not have them sag. But I had already ordered this cabinet and was hoping that it wouldn’t have the same problem. When I got the shipment of the first cabinet and took all the pieces out to started assembling it, I found that the bottom piece was missing the necessary dowel holes to attach the bottom to the side and that the screw holes weren’t cut properly. I reached out to SimpliHome and was told that they didn’t have the replacement part and wasn’t sure when they would. So I reached out to Amazon and worked with them to get a whole new unit shipped out to me from which I had to pull out the piece that I needed. Then I had to put back the defective piece and repackage the box to have it returned to Amazon. I assembled the unit and put the cabinet on its side to make it easier to align the hinges to the pre-screwed holes without fighting gravity (the instructions say to put the doors on when the cabinet is uptight). Again the way the hinge attaches to the side of the cabinet was with that extra block of wood woth some of the screws going into the space between the block and the front of the cabinet side panel. Even not having to fight gravity to put the doors on, there were issues. One set of pilot holes were not done properly with more pilot holes than necessary as if it was drilled incorrectly. And despite numerous attempts, the right door is very uneven which creates a gap at the top of the door. I will be keeping this cabinet because I need a place to store my stuff and I’ve already assembled it and know that trying to get it back to Amazon for a full refund is very challenging, but as much as I like the looks of this cabinet, I would not recommend it to anybody. However, SimpliHome did give me a credit if I want to buy another piece after they couldn’t help me (which I’m unlikely to use given the quality of this piece) and Amazon also did a good job of working with me to find a way to get a replacement piece so that I could assemble it .

Well made and easy to assemble.After buying this, we bought the coffee table and two end tables. Pleased.

I rated this furniture a 5 star due to the sturdiness, affordability, and the design. Of course it is not a top notch piece of furniture. Nor is it something that I would expect to last 30 years or more. However, it is made of solid wood, and it serves the purpose of additional storage, which is a much needed commodity in my home.For some reason, many reviewers rate low cost inexpensive furniture the same way that I would rate very well made, high-end furniture. It is not realistic or logical. At any rate, if you are looking for additional storage for your family room or dining room, I highly recommend this cabinet. As long as you understand that it will not be the absolute best piece of furniture that you can buy. After all, it only cost a few hundred dollars.

I love this vintage piece. I added the black modern handles for some extra pizzazz and it looks and functions great!! It can be hard to assemble, but it worth the time.

This storage cabinet is beautiful. It was packed securely. It took my husband and me about an hour to assemble it. All the parts and screws were clearly labeled. The height is perfect. The distressed charcoal brown color and clean lines complements my modern decor perfectly. This was a great purchase for the price. It was exactly what I was looking for--a solid, attractive hardwood cabinet.

Little tough to assemble, but over all a solid piece. Looks great. Wish it was sturdier but for this price it will do. Cabinet doors don’t line up perfectly but you can make it work with some new holes. Don’t screw too tight while assembling.

I bought this for extra office storage to coordinate with a number of Crate & Barrel pieces. It works well without being too matchy-matchy, especially because it is real wood, and has metal legs similar to one of the tables near it. Straight forward assembly. It probably took a couple of hours but manageable for one person.

All of the parts fit together very well. Aside from ease of assembly, it feels very sturdy and looks good.
