Thexton THE418 Grease Coupler

This inexpensive gadget saved me from the idiot "technicians" at the local Dodge dealer. They installed a front axle u-joint with the grease fitting pointed outward toward the brake - backwards - so that a normal grease gun tip can't possibly connect to it.I wasn't optimistic about this adapter doing the job, but for the price I figured it was worth a try. It works great, and I found it makes greasing the tie-rod ends easier, too.Well worth the price.

I have several grease fittings on my ATV that I cannot get to. This was the answer. TIP: You need a flexible hose (Ace Hardware and others) and screw it on all the way by hand and then back it off 1/4 turn. Use the looseness of the coupler on the hose to get on the fitting and have the grease gun in a comfortable position. It is very tight on the fitting. If you get grease coming out around the coupler and not into the fitting, you do not have it on the fitting all the way. Don't forget to wipe the fitting off first with a paper towel or clean rag - you don't want to push surface dirt into your bearings.

This right angle grease coupler takes a lot of frustration out of greasing the steering linkage on a car or truck. I work on cars and trucks for a living and when I saw this tool I knew I had to have it. If you don't have this tool then you will have to bend your grease gun hose in a near 90 degree angle at times. This will shorten the life of the hose. This tool allows you to not bend the hose. Some GM trucks have a few grease locations on their steering that makes it difficult to access. This tool helps you grease that location much easier than before. I lost the first one I purchased over a year ago which is why I bought this one. It was depressing when I lost it. I am glad Amazon sells them, the shipping was fast and I didn't have to live without one very long.

It works for those hard-to-reach nozzles, but the connection is rarely solid and you’ll likely notice more grease coming out of the sides than going where it needs to be. Its fine if you’re just using it as a home tool, but there are better options out there if you’re already going through a lot of grease.

It took a little getting used to. You have to push it hard onto the greasefitting to get it to snap on. My old normal fitting sometimes wouldn't stayon if I didn't it on straight enough. Was really great on my father-in-law'sChevy blazer---it was obvious that the previous mechanics had nevergreased the fittings where the normal grease fittings wouldn't fit.

Perfect for tight spaces, good value.
