A great book with the pictures you wanted to see but ...
A great book with the pictures you wanted to see but the big magazine publishers felt were too casual or too far removed from the main story to print. The ones the real enthusiast would want to see. .Did it all start with John Field and a 500cc Cooper Norton and a National Championship so long ago?Wade Fuller

Tyler Alexander - From Bruce McLaren to Ron Dennis
Disappointed because of the lack of editorial (writing), I enjoyed the "Lunch with Tyler Alexander" in Motor Magazine much better. They should put the two togather, or add it as a supplement to "McLaren from the inside: Photographs by Tyler Alexander. The best book of this period is by Jo Ramirez "Mermoirs of a Racing Man" - TK

Interesting perspective
Very good book, photos which haven't been published in other publications. Would have preferred more of the earlier years, but that is just a personal preference, still a very good book.

The people behind the McLaren story
This is a great book which shows the people behind the McLaren story. It is not a book about the cars.

Not what I expected
This is a collection of random period photos by Tyler; there is no 'inside' story line. Although the photos are nice, I expected more 'inside story' than photos. Also the book was poorly packaged and arrived with a wrinkled cover and dented binding

An explanation of a racing powerhouse and how it started.
I'm a huge F1 fan and depending on the driver, have pulled for McLaren. There success and class distinguishes them as one of the top teams, of all time. The book was very informative and well written.

Great photos & captions from days gone bye.
My husband was worked with Tyler for many years and we both enjoyed going through the pages together. Tyler does know how to take pictures!

People from a long lost age of motor racing
A high-quality photo-book about racing people rather than the cars or the races. If you are looking for a book about the cars then this isn't for you. But If you remember the times then you can look at the faces and try to identify them before reading the excellent explanatory notes (it took me a few moments to recognise a young Mario Andretti; Lewis Hamilton was easier) and of course there are some who are no longer with us having been lost either life or to the sport. It's a people book, not a technical one - so buy it eyes-wide-open and you won't be disappointed.

Mclaren through the eyes of an insider
These are a superb set of photos from the eclectic Tyler Alexander and gives a birds eye view of McLaren through the years from an insiders point of view. The quality of the pictures is great and TJA clearly could have been a snapper had he not qualified as an engineer. They are brought to us with great affection and humour and the book is very special to all of those who know Tyler and the team. A Christmas must buy for any F1 fan!
