192kHz Digital to Analogue DAC Converter

After connecting via Optic cable my audio quality is significantly improved, and most importantly there is almost no noise mixed up with my music, making my audio experience enjoyable

I am using the HD 598 SR with a 192 KHz DAC. DAC is connected to my computer via an optical cable to Asus xonar d2x sound card. The sound output is very crisp and clear especially the vocals. There is also very clear highs and you might hear lot of sound in music that you may have not heard before. Since the headphone is a open ear kind, there is a better sound stage and will feel clear distinction of sounds coming from each instrument. The classic soft rock and jazz just sounds beautiful. and The best part of this headphone is the comfort when you wear it. Perfectly covers your ears. However, the headphone is not going to overwhelm you as it does not highlight the lows and highs. Sound is very balanced. There is enough bass but not too punchy. The headphones will be perfect for sound editing and monitoring but not so much for your everyday music hearing. Thats the reason i have reduced one star. It is a great headphone, don't get me wrong. With a bit of equalizer setting, you can definitely enjoy hard rock and hip hop.

I bought this for my tv, as the tv doesn't have a headphone jack. This DAC works as advertised, it connects to my tv via the digital audio out, and I can then use headphones to watch tv late at night. This DAC also has a volume control, which is handy as when I am plugged in, the tv volume control no longer works. The only downside of this DAC is that it seems to generate a bit of interference noise. I have to move it around to try and minimize the interference noise. Fortunately, you cannot really hear the interference noise once a movie or tv program is playing. Overall, would highly recommend this unit, it works well and was a good price.

After recently replacing my old TV that had a 3mm audio output jack with a new TV with only digital audio output I didn't think I was going to be able to use my old Bose headphones any more. Turns out this digital to analog audio converter was just the ticket. Works perfect. Excellent quality, no extraneous noises, volume control works great. It's as though the TV has a 3mm analog audio output. With a little strip of double sided tape I attached the converter to the back of the TV. A dot of "white out" on the volume knob makes it easier to see where it's set. Used the TV's USB port to power the converter. Couldn't be happier. Highly recommend.

I was surprised at the small size of the converter: 60mm (L), 70mm (W), 15mm (H). The body appears to be made of decent quality materials. The converter came with a USB-A power cable, and TOSLINK Audio Optical cable. Both cables are about 1m in length. There is no On/Off switch. The audio control knob only controls the level, and does not switch the unit off. The converter is very easy to install. I connected this converter to my TV using both of the supplied cables. Definitely make sure to set your TVs optical audio out to PCM format as this converter does not support any other format. I used RCA cables from the converter to my stereo receiver, and it is working perfectly. There is also a 3.5 mm output audio jack that can also be used for headphones so it’s good that there is a control knob for adjusting the volume.

Audio Quality is excellent for a unit at this price. RCA output is rated at 3V but, in my opinion, does not reach this level. I would have preferred a higher output level to feed my HiFi system aux. input. Output level does not increase after the control is turned past about half way so disappointed.
