Historical Railway archive films - Great viewing
I bought these Blu-Ray discs as I was interested to see the old films they contain. The films themselves are an excellent snapshot of not only railway operations, but also the social history aspects of a bygone era. Films not only cover the trains themselves, but also show the railway's involvement in moving people, goods and even farm animals, aspects of which may not be possible today. I loved it.

Insight into a lost world
A series of short films made between the early 1950s and the late 1970s. These focus mainly on showcasing Britain's nationalised railways, but some also cover road transport and other aspects of British life and nature. They really are a peek into a lost world.Because these were originally shot on film the quality of this remastered Blu-ray edition is excellent. You also get a useful booklet giving extra details of each film. These are much more than just PR pieces, there are some serious film industry players - John Schlesinger for example - among those involved in their production.

A wonderful nostalgic film collection.
A terrific collection of some of the best British Transport FIlms collections. Lovingly restored they look marvellous in Hi-Def. Nice contrast and detail, over the DVD versions, and thankfully they've kept the grain of the original film so it looks very film like. Grain on the DVD versions, in a side-side comparison, just showed as a smudgy digital mess. The films are a great snapshot of life in Britain in the 40s-60s, it not just about trains.I hope they release more collections like this.

Disappointing
This 2-disc BR set is a collection of British Transport Films from the early 1950s to the 1970s. If you were born in that period, then many of the films will jog your memory. Why only 3 stars? The first disc, in my opinion, was the better of the two, with only one dud film, the last, seeming out of place. The second disc had films that were more 'arty', less factual, less informative. They were also more colour than black and white, which just didn't look right. Anyway, worth a go if you're into railway history in the UK, but expect some disappointment (or not, depending on your viewpoint!).

Requires a blu-Ray player.
Great collection of old BTF films, super quality picture. Considering it’s cheaper to buy this disc plus a Blu-ray player to play it on if you don’t already have one, rather than purchase the full DVD set, it’s a bargain!

Great picture quality and a nostalgic trip down memory lane to a simpler time. Buy it!
As soon as I saw this disc was to be released in May 2019 I couldn’t wait for it. For an old railway enthusiast I can recommend this wholeheartedly. The picture quality is first class.

Great selection of classic BTFs
Excellent transfers to Blu-Ray, recommended as a taster selection, hopefully more Blu-Rays of BTFs will follow.
