DEPO 341-1503R-AS-CY Replacement Passenger Side Turn Signal Light (This product is an aftermarket product. It is not created or sold by the OE car company)

This replacement parking light/blinker fit my 2000 VW Passat GLX perfectly. It appears to be OEM quality. A word to the wise, however. There are no installation directions in the package so it is imperative that you know what you are doing. The tabs on the unit have to slide into the respective slots on the car. Secondly,l you have to make sure the spring is properly attached to the eyelet on the unit. Finally, you have to know where the plastic hook on the spring is attached to the car. If you have access to a Bentley or other manual for your car, the directions are pretty clear. If you don't have such a manual, you should because after all, you are driving a 13 year old car around, and the mechanic in the middle of nowhere might not know how to fix your car if you have a breakdown in an area without a VW dealer nearby. I looked at the YouTube video mentioned in other reviews, and that was most helpful. I also have the above referenced Bentley manual. The entire process took less than five minutes for a perfect fit, and it only took that long because I like to study what I'm doing very carefully before getting into a repair. My motto is to never attempt to repair something if you didn't know how it worked in the first place. The bulb that came with the unit is a slightly darker shade of amber than the OEM bulb on the passenger side, but that doesn't bug me in the slightest. If this were a new car, it would, but it could be easily resolved by purchasing two matching bulbs. I have an outstanding VW dealership in my city. Therefore, I'm a believer in letting their mechanics perform the regular service work on my car, and that is probably why I have had this one for so long with very few mechanical problems. However, you don't need to pay the OEM price for this replacement part and a big labor charge for five minutes of work. If you are the slightest bit mechanically inclined, you won't have a problem. Remember, the tabs and the spring latch are the keys to the program here. The broken out plastic eyelet on the lamp assembly is probably why you are in this predicament in the first place.

I love my new turnsignal light for my 00 Passat! My old one was gross and discolored, and the bulb finally went out. So I just decided to replace the whole thing. I love Depo, I've purchased new headlights from them too, and my driver's side turnsignal when it got knocked out a year ago by a bad parallel parker. All the light assemblies they sell seem to have bulbs included. The turnsignals are so easy to replace, a monkey could do it. Well... almost. You may have a little work getting to it, especially this passenger side one. I had a little trouble with the plastic piece that helps you pull the spring back to lock it in place. It's the little black piece you can see sticking out the back of the headlight in the photo. The spring kept popping out of the plastic pull just when I about had it hooked onto the frame. But if that happens to you it probably just means you're pulling from an awkward angle or you need to disconnect some more stuff and get it out of the way so you have more room to maneuver. As soon as I disconnected and removed the stuff was in the way, hooking it in took 2 seconds. Minor auto experience is probably going to help you get this done, but it's pretty simple to figure out either way.

I had the driver's side light fall out while I was driving last week (not as rare as I thought when I went to research) and needed a replacement ASAP. After looking around and comparing prices and review scores, not just on Amazon, but over several auto sites, I decided to go with this light assembly. I ordered it Aug. 2 and it was delivered the next day, though I didn't expect it until the 4th. Product was new, less expensive than other sites and it took less than 20 minutes from opening the box to putting it on my car. The only suggestion I would make is to include a diagram to show which way the spring gets attached and how it connects to the chassis. I watched the video suggested by another reviewer a couple of times (I'm not a car person, so I wanted to make sure I had it down), figured out the spring placement and put it on the car with only a bit of trouble getting the clips aligned correctly. Overall, a good product with fast shipping and as described. One star taken off for lack of instructions or even a simple diagram.

The price is right. It does the job. As others have said, it would be nice if it came with a simple one-sheet illustration showing how the clip is properly attached and where it attaches to the car. If you're like me, the original parts are somewhere on the shoulder of a freeway so it wasn't possible to see how the original was installed. It took me a few tries, turning the clip upside down (not sure what is really the "up" side), and then figuring out where it attaches on the car frame. I think I have it right, but I'm not sure. The YouTube video that others have referenced shows just a fleeting second or two of the clip...a still photo or line drawing would be much more helpful.It went in my 1999 Passat.

It was easy to install

Like other reviewers, my light fell off on the highway (what's up with that?) and I bought this as a replacement. It fits well and looks newer than the rest of my 2000 Passat GLX 4-Motion Wagon. My only complaint and reason for deducting a star is that it arrived with a dead bulb, but I had a replacement on hand so it caused me little trouble. If you're concerned with your car's appearance, I'd recommend replacing both sides at the same time or you'll end up with one clouded old light and one gleaming new one.
