This brand has been around for many many years, and has always been easily purchased at any department store. All of a sudden I can’t find it and these are the only blankets I put on our beds. They are perfect all weather blankets warm in the winter cool in the summer and soft on your toes. They hold up to washing and use. My mom bought me my first Velux blanket when I was in high school that was 35 years ago. I’m still using them and thanks to Amazon. I can continue to use them.

I live in a cool climate, but it seldom gets to freezing. In the mid 30's F., I need a second blanket or duvet in addition to the Vellux. It's the perfect weight Spring through early Autumn. I became acquainted with Vellux blankets in my career as a quality auditor for hotels, checking standards, cleanliness and condition of guest rooms. These originals are made of nylon fiber injected through a sheet of reinforced urethane foam. They resist and release soils and stains easily in the wash, they dry far more quickly than cotton, they are light, warm, soft, and durable if cared for properly. They never pill like cotton and polyester do. They do not wear well if abused with high heat and over drying. I dry mine on an apartment clothes rack. I still have two chocolate colored Vellux blankets I have used for over 16 years that show no sign of wear yet. If the label lists polyester at all, then it is NOT an original Vellux blanket and will not perform or wear with the quality attributes of the original Vellux.

I bought this for my granddaughter to use on her bed. She was recently diagnosed with dust mite allergy, and because I also have that allergy, I already knew this would be a great product for her. Soft, washes well on HOT water on a regular basis (which is important when it's dust mite season!). Dries well in the dryer, doesn't take as long to dry as other fabric types. I expect it to last several years, as Velux typically does last a long time. Only wish we could get it in a purple color!

I ordered 2 twin & 2 king size and the items were great. Fast shipping. I washed them and used them right away. They do get softer after washing them. I used fabric softner and the blanket really holds the smell for a few weeks. Very happy.

All of my Grandkids LOVE this blanket, but I wish that they had a larger selection of colors, I have 8 Grandkids and they all want a different color and I haven't been able to find any, I'm thinking I might have to get a light colored one and dye it to the desired color.

Love this blanket. When I wake up in the morning, it's still between the sheet and comforter. No more blankets on the floor! It's also lightweight and doesn't feel like I'm trapped under it!. It's warm and cozy. Would love it also in another color so I could color coordinate.

I had one of these blankets in the past and it was very soft and light weight. I was a little disappointed because I find that this one is not as soft and heavier. I kept it because vellux blankets are harder to find in the stores.

This blanket is very nice and light weight. I have two of them and I will definitely buy again.

This blanket is beautifully plush, a generous size and arrived in good time, so why only three stars???? Because it is not TAN, it is silvery beige. A lovely colour but not what I wanted. It does fit with the room thankfully but when you order from this company, take care, ask the questions about colour. Some will send a sample, not sure if this company will. UPDATE. I've removed two more stars, this blanket it so easy to damage, it already has 3 holes in it, there may be more. Not worth the money

So pleased to be able to replace my 18 year old previous vellum blanket that was bought in USA. So thin on the bed and yet toasty warm.

I bought this to replace a vellux blanket that I'd used and loved for 40 years and that had finally given up its ghost. When it arrived I grabbed it out of the bag to enjoy its softness and instead felt my hands covered with some oily smelling substance. Very nasty! Otherwise it looked like what I wanted and I decided to keep it and wash it until the smell and substance were gone. After each wash I would spread it out in my guest bedroom to let it air and see if it seemed non toxic. As I walked by that room I could smell the odor from the hall and knew it needed another wash. The oily feel was gone after the first wash but the smell took much longer to suppress. With each wash it steadily improved but I was not willing to put it on my bed until I had washed it six times. Now I'm sleeping under it and it's everything I wanted: soft, light, warm, comfortable. But, what have they done! My first Vellux blanket from 40 years ago was not a toxic nightmare on arrival, but this one was. Hopefully this one will last me to my grave and I won't need to contemplate buying another.
