The Cow: A Tribute

One of the most beautiful books of photography I've ever seen!
I bought this book because I love cows - I collect cow greeting cards, stamps, postcards, books, fabric, figurines, etc. You get the idea. When I received the book, though, I was completely overwhelmed by the beauty of the photography. This was NOT a book that was phoned in; the variety and quality of the photos is truly astounding. If I had more money, I would buy a second book and frame the pictures in it! Plus, the writing is excellent and interesting. This book is done in Europe, so it has a different perspective than many of the cow books I've read that were done in the United States. It showcases a lot of breeds I had never heard of.The price was way more than I usually spend for a book, but it was so worth it! If you LUV cows or if you LUV photography, you will not be disappointed with this book!

Impressive encyclopedia of cows around the world
With descriptions and stunning photos of myriad breeds of cows from around the world, this is a masterpiece. There is so much to learn about the various breeds beyond the common ones seen in the U.S. The book contains detailed descriptions of each breed's ancestry, their main attributes and adaptation to their environment, the benefits to humans, and amazing, sharp photos of cows in their habitat. At 480 pages, you certainly get your money's worth.

Will be the most looked at coffee table book in the house
Phenomenal photos of incredibly rare breeds. As an Angus cattle rancher, I really appreciate the diversity of breeds. What a wonderful book to peruse while sipping whisky

Beautiful photos, Truely respectful copy.
This book is a piece of fine art. The photos are beautiful. The text is so knowledgeable and well written. I've only read part of it so far - because it is huge! This is not a husbandry book. It tells the story of peoples all over the world and how the cow was beside us all the way.

Both beautiful and interesting
This is a beautiful group of photos, with very interesting information as well. Even if you care nothing for cows, the images will move you. Great gift for people interested in either cows or great landscapes.

THE book for cow lovers
This is the cow book of a lifetime, the pictures capture the majesty of cattle and it is so harmonious to see each in it's native land. I will be treasuring this book long after my herding days are over, drinking in the pictures when I cannot see and touch real cows anymore. Every cow fan should have a copy, you will NOT be disappointed.

This book is absolutely huge and weighs a tonne but exceptional design and quality.
I bought this book for my sister for Christmas as she is obsesses with cows. The book is incredible value for money. It's big, weighs a lot, and is packed full of high quality photos and information about cows. It's just cows. All over the world. What more would a cow lover want/need? This is the next best thing to actually owning a cow.

Prompt service.
Arrived earlier than expected and in good condition. Nice book with lots of information and great photos but strangely disappointing in the coverage of British breeds.

My niece cried when I gave it to her
This surprised me, as she's 18. But apparently cows are her spirit animals. The pictures are pretty, too.
