The Football Superstar: Football book for kids 7-13 (The Charlie Fry Series)

It was a good read. I think the 8-12 years will enjoy it.

A grandad writes...I read The Football Superstar in one go. Couldn't put it down, a genuine page-turner. And for my money, the best in the Charlie Fry series.The drama is maintained from front page to last. Thanks in no small part to football's Mr Nasty - Chell Di Santos, the despicable manager who swill stop at nothing to destroy Charlie in pursuit of the league title.As a grandparent I've had oodles of experience reading kids' books, enjoying them for myself as much as for the children.Charlie Fry is up there with the best of the heroes and Di Santos undoubtedly a villain of international potential.Fans of Charlie Fry will expect the Boy Wonder to triumph in the end, just as surely as they anticipate Di Santos getting his come-uppance. The brilliance of this book lies in teasing the reader on every page before they get there.There's an spoken understanding that they'll be taken on a roller-coaster, with scary swoops and turns, getting caught up in the drama of the moment.But at the back of your mind you know you'll arrive safely at the end. A great finale to the series but true to form a teasing promise of even greater games to come.Steve Chilton

Bought several books in this series - happy with them all. My grandson will love them, for sure

These books were for a football mad Grandson he loved the first one I bought him so for Christmas I completed the set.He was very happy to have the whole set.

Wow! What a read! I felt torn between wanting to devour the final instalment of the Charlie Fry series and not wanting to read it took quickly as the tale of Charlie Fry Boy Wonder has come to an end. The final book didn't disappoint with punchy narrative, plot twists and new characters aplenty. The whole series has been a triumph, a delight to read and enjoy with the family.

I really liked the part where all of his friends help to find Charlie. I hope there is more books I read all of the series in the space of a week. 5/5. Great for all ages.
