A worthwhile read for Batman fans
I passed on this book for several years, but decided to buy it when I saw that Amazon listed only 1 copy left! So I don't know if the review will be helpful if there are no more copies available (at least through Amazon) but I can say that it was an enjoyable read, surveying various aspects of the Batman series starting with the Julius Schwartz "New Look" of 1964, on through the "camp' TV-show era of the mid 60's, to the "creature of the night" revamp for Batman spearheaded by Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams during the 1970's.

Great Bat Reading
This is a thoroughly researched Bat Book focusing on the 1960s and 1970s era, jam-packed with comics and archival photos, and presented in painstaking detail by the authors. There's something here for everyone -- history, artist interviews, and story analysis. The format and visuals make it easy to jump in and read in short bursts. But the narrative thread is strong throughout, which makes this compelling cover-to-cover reading for Bat-amateurs and die-hard fans alike.

Oh You Wish Batman Would Let You In His Cool Lair But You Can Read About It
This book is a really fun read if bronze age Batman is your favorite character and you like the art of Neal Adams. Especially enjoyable if tis is the era you grew up reading or want an overview of this time in Batman's character history and coming to it for the first time.

Please read! Not about the "Batcave" at all
Maybe I didn't read enough of the description but this book is not about the Batcave at all. I thought it would be words and pictures about the famous 'Cave throughout history, but the book is actually a history of Batman from 1964 to 1979.That said, it's a good history book, and it's packed with info, so I am giving it 5 stars even though it wasn't really what I wanted or expected.

And I thought I knew ya', Batman!
Excellent, highly recommended to anyone who grew up reading Batman and Detective comics during the 60's and 70's. I thought that I already knew most of this stuff but was pleasantly surprised. Behind the scenes interviews are quite enlightening and most enjoyable. I would have liked a little more color inside but I know that that would just increase the cost. Great job gentlemen! Can't wait to read the other DC "Companion" offerings.

The untold DC history is a great read.
There are lots of books out about comics history, many of them seem repetitious. This one is different, with interviews with classic DC artists, you get a lot more "dirt" about how the creatives were treated in the early days, paving the way for the better treated artists of the day. Great for any fan (of any age) of the classic DC comics series.

Definitive
This book is the definitive look at Batman in the Silver and Bronze ages. Through use of interviews with the writers, artists and editors of the comics, critical reviews of the comics, and complete checklists for each and every comic, it presents a complete picture of the Batman phenomenon of the '60s and '70s. Lots of great artwork, too. First class package. If you're a fan of Batman, this book belongs on your shelf.

Holy Handbook for Batty People!
Excellent book at the secondhand price. Interesting interviews with Carmine Infantino, Neal Adams and Denny O'Neil. Good articles on various bits of Batman history and how Bob Kane wrote his name all over it but never really did much. Twomorrows do really great books about comics.
