Review: Great book for the intermediate wood worker - Great book! I enjoined never built a bee hive before but I have moderate wood working experience from framing houses and building subwoofer enclosures. I found this book very easy to follow line by line and it turned out a great hive that's more intricate then something I would have just thought up. If you own a table saw and can measure with a measuring tape you can build a great hive just from reading this book. Pictures attatched are of what I built in a half day. His plans are very cost efficient and there is little scrap left over. It only took just a few boards to build what is pictured. Get the book you won't be disappointed unless you are looking for a very advanced wood working build (beyond the simple rabbit joint). Have fun and watch those fingers around the power tools! Update: I've continued to use this book to build more parts of the hives and now have 4 complete hives. One thing I wish the book included was building frames; I had to source the dimensions elsewhere. If the book was to be a complete hive book bottom to top, I feel it needs to include making top bars, side bars and bottom bars. Still a 5 star book! Review: Detailed plans for construction of beekeeping equipment. - Book came in perfect condition, new in fact. Well wrapped. Has plans for boxes, bottom boards , screened , solid etc. etc. Nucs, various lids, feeders. I was surprised that the bee box plans did not include boxes constructed with box joints. It is very easy to follow , covers 99 percent of most beekeeping equipment. Definitely worth the money.

Lots of Good Stuff
I found this book to be very informative. It shows all the different parts that need to be assembled to make a hive. The dimensions give are for both a 10 or 8 frame hive. Although, it does not state whether or not these dimensions are compatible with other brands of hive. I gave this a four, because some of the diagrams where a bit confusing, but with a little studying of the diagrams you can figure it out. I do like the tips on how to cut some of the more difficult pieces. It is a very good book for a beginner woodworker, with a whole chapter on what tools you need and alternative tools that can be used if you don't have the first one listed. Another nice feature of this book, is the section on jigs, like the one for building frames.

Buy it! You will not regret it.
This book is a MONEY SAVER and life saver!!! Extremely easy instructions. Written down to earth conversationally. Itโs like the guy is standing there drinking his coffee walking you through the cuts and processes. Itโs a great buy for any beekeeper new or experienced! I highly recommend to all other beekeepers!

Incredibly Accessible Information
Although building a beehive is actually a fairly simple construction project, there are tons and tons of variables. I don't think you could describe the process in more direct, simple and easy-to-understand terms, than in this book. It poignantly explains why there are different types of hives, and different hive parts, and makes building any hive step-by-step a doable project. The book also provides tons of info on the "extras" such as feeders. And that's not even mentioning the crystal clear illustrations that demystify the top. A really well done book.

Easy to understand and easy to follow diagrams.
Gives you all the basic measurements for everything needed for bee hives. Along with detailed diagrams. (I personally work better from a good set of plans) nothing fancy here basic good working hive plans. I added dove tails and made a jig to cut in handles. The jig section is a big bonus for making multpule hives. I found other books that seemed fusy. This book is to the point and easy to understand.

Missing Critical Information
While the concept of this book is "easy" beekeeping equipment and will give you quite a bit of what you need, I gave this book a three star review with great difficulty, I struggled with a 2-3 because the book is missing one critical piece of equipment you'll need. It does not include the blueprints for Frames. Frames are so critical to your hive that to omit this piece does the book disservice. I've had to source out other information, had I known it was missing the part about frames I would have sourced out everything instead of buying this book. It is a huge disappointment. However, it will still serve an initial purpose of providing the basic measurements for interior dimensions of equipment while my father and I spruce up the hives and offer them for sale through our Apiary.

This is one of the essentials if you want to build your own hives & equipment
This book is very well written and has all the necessary drawings with complete details to build a number of very useful hives and structures. As long as you are handy with a table saw, a router and a small handsaw you can build everything in this book.
