Works as salt is supposed to.

I love that I can purchase 1 container and it lasts all winter! I use a scoop and spread lightly on sidewalks and walkways and it works immediately and thoroughly leaving no residue or unmelted chunks of salt for my pets to get on their feet. The small grains are perfect for melting large swaths of driveway and steps. Bought it last year, again this year, and will continue in future years!

It makes stuff salty.

It's pure salt with no additives, which is exactly what I was looking for, so I have no complaints about the product itself. However, despite buying in bulk, it turns out that this product is significantly more expensive than purchasing the small containers at the grocery store. So, I definitely won't be buying salt this way again. Although transferring all the salt from the small containers to a larger storage vessel will be a hassle, I think it's worth it to avoid paying extra for the convenience of a bigger bag.

No matter, I went ahead and called up my relatives and decided to distribute salt like a rich cat during war time."Oh, what do you mean salt is cheap and only $1 at the local Dollar Tree?""You don't need salt because you get the packets of salt at McDonalds for free??""You're asking if I want salt because you bought the same deal on Amazon???"Seems like unless you're a restaurant you really don't need 25 lbs of salt in a typical household. My only gripe was that when the salt bag arrived, that box had salt all over the place. These salt bags retain majority of the salt, but somewhere somehow, they always leak out so I advise you to change into a more suitable container.For those who have issues about non-iodized salt. My research did mention that humans a threshold of iodine to sustain life and the easiest way to do it is via salt. I also find that my normal weekly diet consists of seafood or food that contains iodine that additional iodine in salt is helpful but not necessary. Not a big deal, but do your research if you're like me and want to be a rich cat buying 25lb of non-iodine salt.

I believe price is an important part of value, so I try to include my purchase price in every review.@$5.00 The trouble of re-packaging is worth it to me over the convenience (I'm cheap when I can be). Maybe that's not the case for you. Also note it's non-iodized. For 99.999% of the population that won't be an issue as you get plenty elsewhere, but worth a note.Currently, this is selling @$20.48!!!. Pass Pass Pass. That's even more expensive than buying your table salt in table sized containers Wait for the sale or buy your salt elsewhere.

Bought it to put down on weeds on my steps and garden path. It worked! Just make sure you spray it down real good with water; had to spray it twice to get rid of the marks it left behind
