As some of the other reviewers have said, you don't need to take off all of the factory grill in the instructions, possibly breaking things and loosening things that might void some of the warranties. However, there is no way to use the included screws to mount their mounting brackets, even if you follow their directions, just not enough room between the oil cooler and the bracket to fit a screwdriver in, even a stubby.I recommend, and they should have included 4 - M6 x 25mm Body Bolts and 4 - M6-1.0 Speed Nuts (Dorman part numbers 455930BP and 454110BP respectively) available at O'Riellys or other auto parts places. Makes it a snap to install the brackets with a ratcheting wrench or small socket wrench. Only other issue is that, as supplied, the grill does not install evenly with the bumper. Need to use two of the washers they supplied as spacers on the top screws behind the grill.It does look much better than the gaping hole and the vulnerable oil cooler.

Anyone who's bought a 2015 Silverado 2500 HD has probably stood in front of their truck and thought, "Something doesn't look right here..." then your four year old comes over and points at the large hole in the bumper of the truck you just bought and asks if that's where you mount the plow.After telling him no, you look at the massive opening much more closely and you realize that the transmission oil cooler is mounted right behind that hole that is large enough to send a baseball through, maybe even a softball, forget about a nice sharp stone thrown up by the vehicle in front of you.The T-Rex grille fills the hole nicely and should protect the transmission oil cooler as well. The black billet also looks great on a black Z71. Chevrolet actually provides holes for mounting the grille they neglect to provide, so installation is fairly straightforward.

Nice fit, looks awesome, install went great once I realized the supplied fasteners wouldn't work. Went to the local auto parts store and bought 4 M6-1.0 x 25mm hex head bolts with captive washers (body bolts) and 4 u-nuts. Use those to install the brackets to the rad support. No need to remove the radiator cover and grille, best to throw the instructions in the trash along with the 4 bolts and u-nuts supplied as well as the washers. Not counting the ten minutes wasted trying to get the supplied fasteners to work, it took a total of 5 minutes to install.

This Product is very attractive. Something GM should have provided. Fits perfectly in area. Shipping arrived early. Would have given it 5 STAR, but mounting hardware provided was EXTREMELY hard to use in the installation. U-Clips were not the correct size as mentioned in other reviews. Impossible to use the Phillip Head Screws provided even with a 3 inch stubby screwdriver. I had to substitute Hex head screws with 5/16 inch heads and change the U-Clips to a longer reach. The total install time was about 1 1/2 hours using all the correct parts. I did remove the top radiator shroud and and Grill as recommended. Others have done the job without removing, but it takes only about 15 minutes to get off and 10 minutes to put back on.

I took the advice ahead of time to grab M6 x 1" hex heads and u clips and it was worth it. Thanks for the tip! Much easier to install the brackets with a 10mm ratchet wrench than trying to get a stubby screwdriver in there. Did not have to take anything apart either, which was a plus. Took 20 mins to install on my 16' 2500 Custom Sport Duramax. It fit great, looks great with this Black Painted Z71 front end. I did not washer up any mounting points for additional spacing.

I wanted to add a billet grill to the 2015 Chevy bumper opening. The Trex billet is well designed and manufactured and not restrict airflow, I choose the black model. I read the installation guide carefully and it suggested to removed the top radiator/fan cover, then the front grill to gain access to the mounting points. Upon close review, I found a better way, there is easy access directly thru the front bumper opening by using a small 10 mm socket wrench to unbolt the existing bolts and then mount the brackets, reinstall the bolts. Piece of cake.

Mounting clips did not fit. Poor design for mounting hardware. Used the clips like a nut to secure bolt. Has held OK so far. Looks good installed. Irritating that Chevy designers left this gaping hole in the grill on 2015 Duramax. Should not have had to spend $100+ on a Chervrolet design flaw.

I do like it, thought it was pricey though for a small piece of metal. Installation was a little more taxing than I expected but was done in an hour or so. You have to take the grill off to get to the area to access the brackets. I thought you could just come up from underneath.

Fits well in that hole in the bumper and like that it will protect the cooler behind it. Time will tell if the black powder coat will remain rust free.

Great product, looks really good, and was easy too install. Definitely worth putting on makes a nice finish look to the bumper. Something GM should’ve done in the first place.

Recommend this grill for the Silverado HD. Protects the transmission cooler very well.
