Well this helpful!!!
So I read all of The Fae Chronicles and knew I missed some information in the last book. I could tell something’s happened and couldn’t figure out where to go to reconcile this so I just ended reading the last book with unanswered question. So then I read Playing with Monsters series which is about Lucian, which helped some. And now that I have read this book I am all clued in. No longer lost.I absolutely love Ristan and to see him get the girl makes my heart happy. Heaven and Hell. Together in a loving relationship. Who would have thought. Olivia made Ristan realize what he was lacking in his life and helped him to become a better demon. And it helped him finally tell Danu to suck it. I just wanted to punch, slap, kick and maim her. She is probably the true definition what I would imagine a god to be like. Can’t really understand singular emotions but still selfishly wants what they want. Can’t wait to find out about Ciara and the Dragon King. Woop woop

You will need tissues and extra underwear
May I just sayy that Amelia has outdone herself with this one. This book picks up by giving us some background information and details unknown from The Fae Chronicles. Where as you don't have to have read them to enjoy this book it is most definitely recommended to fully appreciate everything that is happening. To me the book started a little slow but mainly because I didn't want the background. I just wanted to know what comes next. And believe me, what came next was most definitely worth it. Ristan the Horde's Demon will have your heart breaking and you imaging what it would be like to lick him all over at the same time. Marvelous job. I have not one single thing bad to say about this book. Cannot wait to see what Amelia had in store for us next.

I Can Get Enough
Ristan one of Ryder's Elite Guards and Brother never thought he could form an Attachment to a innocent little Librarian names Olivia. She was everything he didn't look for in a hook up. With the Guild in shambles doubt creeps in Ristan, thinking Olivia betrayed him and Olivia thinking she trusted the wrong people. Fairy is still in danger of dying and the Horde King and his beloved Syn's babies are in trouble too. Relics are needed and to many people are looking for them. Olivia has always known she was a with because of her Mother but she had no idea she is about to find out what else she is. Ristan never thought he could feel these different feeling in him because of one little red hair librarian. When she is ripped away from him, with no way of going after her. He has no idea Olivia is searching for her home where she felt safe for the first time in her life. Can these two completely different people from different Worlds fight to get back to each other a d help save the world's they both love. I need more these series by Amleia Hutchins draw me in and I want it to go on and on.

A sinfully sexy Demon
I fell even more in lust with our Funny Demon. I can officially say that I have added a Demon to my book boyfriends list! Sexy, spunky, and so bloody. Who knew a a child of the Horde King would become so habit forming. But betrayal is something that is not taken lightly. And worse yet is being stabbed in the back by your crush. Nothing has ever been easy for Olivia. No parents and no one to notice her, she is taken aback by the bloody sexy Enforcer that keeps showing up at her library. Attraction is heady. And lust is thick in the air." it was so hard for him to understand why this shy, naive female who’d been untouched by any other man created this maelstrom of emotions inside of him. Everything about her was perfection to him, which was saying something , considering he’d always looked at his sexual partners and found something he didn’t like. Perhaps that was what made it easy for him to hit it and quit it. With Olivia, he loved everything, right down to her frown when she was lost in whatever was running through her pretty little head."But true evil comes in many disguises. Infiltrating the the ranks and taking out Olivia's home. But when danger eyes Olivia, Ristin takes no chances. His feelings grow with every look and his thoughts are consumed. But when all seems lost the Demon is broken. Broken. Can love take any form? Will oil and water mesh just this one time." Memories of everything they’d done kept replaying through her mind. Since she’d woken up, she thought of little else but what he’d done with her body. To her body. The guy had some mad skills she’d all but purred and sang Dixie for him while he f*cked her."BRAVA!!!

One word... Ristan!!!,
Amazing book! I loved the story of Ristan. We built up to this book in the other series and I became so addicted. Wanting to know what happened to him as a child and what was going on with Danu. We got all our answers and more in this book. One thing I really didn’t like was the way the book was narrated. It made it difficult to get into at the beginning. I didn’t know who was the one telling to story at some points in the book. But after I got used to it.

So happy we got this book!
I was hoping for this book and was so happy it was written. Ristan is such a loveable character and he deserved to have the spotlight in his own book. You learn about his relationship with Danu and how that came to be. You also learn more about Olivia and her role in this world and about her parentage and what it means. I loved this book how it made me the the series more.

A Great Start To This Fae Chronicles Spin-off Series.
I've become a fan of Amelia Hutchins after starting The Fae Chronicles and couldn't wait to get to know the men of The Elite Guard better. I love her writing style, the pace she sets for her stories and the gripping adventures she takes us on. The characters she creates are always complex souls that exhibit all the personality traits that hold my interest. ;-)If you've read any of my reviews before, you'll know that I enjoy a story more when the female protagonist is intelligent, resilient, resourceful, self-reliant and has plenty of gumption: I wasn't disappointed here. Although, Olivia isn't your usual kickass heroine, I loved her gumption and really respected her resolve to own up to her mistakes and try to fix them. I was already a little in love with Ristan from reading The Fae Chronicles because of his actions, loyalty, sexual teasing and wicked sense of humour and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him better in this book. There is a great deal of graphic violence and sexual content in this book. I would just like to add that some of the actions of the species may cause offense or trigger emotions some readers should avoid. It's always a grey area, paranormal romances written about succubi or inccubi type Fae because sex without consent is rape and the overwhelming power of these Fae to make humans do things they mentally might not want to is, by our real life laws, rape. Having said that if you persist, Ms Hutchins always gives her readers wonderful insights into her characters' inner dialogue which changes your perspective and understanding. I was definitely out of my comfort zone reading some scenes (it's a book so you can always elect to skim over content that you really don't want to read) but didn't back away and ended up enjoying the extra dimension that they added to the emotional turmoil and conflict they created. As an existing fan of this world, A Demon's Dark Embrace was a fantastic read and I stand by my 5 stars rating, however, because the timeline for this book overlaps events that happened in The Fae Chronicles, jumping straight in with this one may cause new readers to feel a bit lost. There are many story threads that run in both series and I'm anxious to continue my adventures in Faery and get to know the Fae of The Elite Guard much better. ;-)

this was still a decent addition to the series just not my favourite.
I enjoyed this it was as expected excellently written but it just didn’t manage to grab my attention in the way I was expecting it to. I mean I adore Ristan he’s like one of my favourite characters in this series so maybe my expectations were a tad too high going in. I also think a lot of my dissatisfaction may have been due to the first 40% of this being basically a recap and I’d already experienced these same scenes previously just from a different perspective.Saying that though I did like Ristan and Olivia as a pairing though at times Olivia did feel slightly wishy-washy but again maybe because of how strong a character Syn has been I was unfairly comparing them and Olivia is definitely no Syn. Still, this had plenty of heat some kinky shenanigans and the demon got his girl. One thing I have to mention though was Danu’s inclusion. I didn’t want to participate in any of her games with Ristan especially the one with Olivia. I really wished she’d stayed more of a background thing as for me it definitely detracted from Olivia and Ristan’s emerging bond. But overall though this was still a decent addition to the series just not my favourite.

I wish it was better
Ritsan was my favourite character from the Fey Chronicles. There is so much more to him than just demon, so I was really excited to read this book. The book takes place at the same time as the fourth Fey book so I would definitely not recommend reading it unless you have read the Fey Chronicles first. There is so many rushed info dumps and snippets of information you will have no hope of keeping up unless you have already read them. As it was, I found the first five chapters boring because it was all summarising what I already know.I really enjoyed finding out more about Ristan and his childhood, and the ending was great! But, there was a lot about this book that just didn’t do it for me. Ristan and Olivia got together without much in the way of conflict. One minute he is screaming for her slow bloody death, the next he is balls deep trying to tell himself that this is a punishment (haha I could handle a punishment like that let me tell you!)All in all, it was a fun read with some steamy scenes and I did enjoy it, I just wish it was better.I’m not done with Faery. I love the world Amelia has created and I will continue to read, but I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the others I have read.

Fantastic
Wow. Ristan is a complex character that I grew to love through the far chronicles, his friendship with Syn and his unique talents made his memorable. After his capture in the guild, Ristan was lost in the throes of revenge and hatred, he wanted those involved to suffer and that suffering was to start with a little witch called Olivia. Olivia was a quiet girl, innocence poured from her but so did nievety that led to her betraying her mentor and friends. This story takes us on a rollercoaster ride, it's a battle of wills and it's fun to watch. Amelia has woven together a fantasy world of fae, demons, and mages with humans stuck in the middle. There is alot of sexual activity in this book and can get graffic at times but it all adds to the intensity of the world. I don't usually like a book that gets to explicit but this author has found the perfect balance of dominance, independence and submission that does not over run and take away from the actual plot, it in fact adds to it.Great series looking forward to the next book.

Ristan
I absolutely adored Ristan in The Fae Chronicles. He is by far one of my favourite characters (aside from my mam Ryder 😏) and this book did not disappoint! I've seen quite a few reviews giving out about the first 10p or so pages are a recap of what happened in Seducing Destiny and tbh I actually quite enjoyed it as we got to see the events unfold through Ristans eyes in regards to the visions etc and I thought it was a great way to start the book and the lead up to the events of how Olivia played into the events and really how she came about! My only problem is that I wanted to know more about Olivia when she was brought back to Sanctuary and her thoughts! I love both Ristan and Olivia as a whole and I'm so excited to continue both series 😍 😍
