Impressed
I am impressed with this product. I used it to attach an umbrella to a chair on a small balcony and it works very well. I like that it moves side to side and backward and forward to follow the sun. I read a couple of reviews where people said the holder slips and doesn't stay in place. But the "gears" are racheted so I don't know how they can slip. Maybe these people mean the mounting piece slips on whatever they have it attached to. But I tightened up the screws as far as I could and it seems to fit very securely.I AM ADDING TO THE PREVIOUS REVIEW, ABOVE. NOW THAT I HAVE USED THIS FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS I AGREE WITH THE OTHERS WHO SAID THE PRODUCT SLIPS...THE WEIGHT OF THE UMBRELLA CAUSES THE HOLDER TO SLIP ON WHATEVER IT IS MOUNTED TO (IN MY CASE A CHAIR, BUT SAME CIRCUMFERENCE AS A GOLF CART) WHEN THE UMBRELLA IS IN A DIAGONAL POSITION (NOT STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN). THE COMPANY TRIED TO DEAL WITH THIS BY ADDING SOME STICKY PATCHES TO THE MOUNTING PIECE, BUT IT IS NOT SUFFICIENT TO PREVENT SLIPPAGE.

Highly Recommend - GREAT for tall golfers!
The BB umbrella holder that came with my Quad XL did not raise the umbrella high enough for me to see more than a few feet in front of me when the cart handle was angled up for this 5'10" golfer. There were no adjustments possible. Additionally, the cup diameter was much too large for the BB Sun umbrella handle to sit snugly without wedging something else in there. The umbrella was useless I could find a different cart attachment. This attachment I am reviewing arrived within 48 hours and is fantastic. The design is well thought out and the plastic is very sturdy. I can adjust it quickly in 2 different ways and make it exactly right for me. It came with an adapter that fits the square indentation on my cart made for the umbrella holder, (as well as a clamp if you want to put it on a tubular handle). The 3rd adjustment knob should hold any umbrella handle snugly. This adapter is a WINNER!

DISABLED USE AS WELL!
DISABLED - WALKER - Heavy-duty is needed. Done. Adjustable. Done. Fits all golf umbrellas. Done. I gave 4 stars, simply because I've held my breath with handicapped-inventions. The diameter is slightly small for my use, but it wasn't meant for my kind of use, and an x-acto works well. One thing... SMALL BOX. Solution, rip the box to get it out to not break it.

The universal attachment fits a small handle.
I looked for a while for an umbrella holder that would fit my Tourtrec one click golf push cart. This Bag Boy Universal works great!!! I did have to remove a small piece of the rubber grip on the handle to get the attachment to fit. However, someone with engineering savvy might figure longer screws would work on the handle attachment. When the product arrives, the four screws and the set screws are already on the attachment. An Allen wrench is included to enable you to remove the screws. Then you separate the parts and attach it to the cart handle. Putting on the umbrella holder is easy. The holder will accommodate a sturdy golf umbrella. I use it for walking on the course on a sunny day. A must for the weather in Alabama.

Serious design flaw.
Although the holder is of good quality materials, there is a serious design flaw. I used this once in light to moderate wind gusts and the 'pusher' or umbrella clamp failed (the part that applies pressure to the base of the umbrella. In the accompanying photo, the critical piece IMO, is only 3/4" in length. That small length is supposed to apply pressure to the umbrella grip when adjusted. The butt end of the screw can rather easily come out of the umbrella clamp IMO due to the clamp's small 3/4" size. I'm not an engineer, but the load/movement of the umbrella in any kind of moderate wind, needs to be distributed over a larger area sic. a larger clamp. If one tightens the clamp too hard, you run the risk of the clamp popping off the screw.I was able to reattach the clamp to the screw, so we'll see how things work in the future.

By all accounts this seems to be a really sturdy umbrella holder
By all accounts this seems to be a really sturdy umbrella holder. It was easy to mount and holds the umbrella just fine. There are 2 issues I have. After walking a bit the gears get loosened and the holder gives way, plus this holder is so heavy that my pushcart has to be weighted down on the front tire. I have been using s six pack to keep this from happening, but once that's gone it tips back to the ground.

Saved the day!
I wasn't sure I was going to have to buy a new hand cart for the golf bag. I had to walk off the course because the umbrella older kept sliding and the sun has been pretty strong in NJ lately. The new holder works great and saved me from having to buy a new cart.

Worked perfect on my Sunmountain push cart
Worked perfect on my Sunmountain push cart... I did have to cut away the foam grip to install, but I will be leaving the base permanently attached and I'll be keeping the umbrella holder piece in my golf bag until it is needed. It holds my golf umbrella perfectly and it held up in the wind (10 - 15 mph, gusts 20+ mph) great. FYI - my umbrella is designed for wind, if you had a cheap umbrella I could see it tipping the bag over and/or putting strain on the holder itself. Overall it is a great product and please disregard the poor reviews from people who are complaining about it not working on their stroller or wheelchair. This was designed for a bag boy golf push cart. If it's not a bag boy cart your attaching it to, then do your research on the girth of the pipe/handle you are attaching it too before you order it. If you are smart and patient you will buy and install this properly and it should last you a long time. - Thank you, Michael
