Hard to put down!
Wow! I read through many of the reviews on Moonlight Avenue before purchasing it and now I know what all of the fuss was about. Hill did an excellent job intertwining the “murder mystery” and “romance” genres. The blend of the two was simply perfect. The romantic moments flowed beautifully back into the investigation, and vice versa. I don’t recall having any moments of “boredom” where I plainly skimmed through to the more exciting material...I was 100% captured by this story from start to finish.Overall, the story was beautiful/exciting, the character development was well-constructed, and all loose ends were tied up nicely in the conclusion (one of my pet peeves when ignored or rushed). If you’re looking for an enticing, lesfic read, I recommend giving this one a shot!

good read
I've never read any of Ms Hill's books before and am happy to say I found this novel interesting and kept me engaged in the story and characters. What I did have a problem with is ID'ing who was speaking sometimes. i'd need to re-read a paragraph. Also ID'ing what person she was eluding to. Other than that it was a fast paced story, the character development was good - but I was disappointed with the element of the key. Left me wanting - but not disappointed enough in the ending that i'd lower the rating.

Great Book!
I totally enjoy reading books by Gerri Hill! I love all her books and this one was amazing! Loved the characters as well as the story. Her books always has that excitement that is hard to put the book down. For now, I will have to wait for her next book and hope it is a sequel but no matter what, I am sure it will be great.

Hill does it again!
Excellent mystery, great characters, wonderfully written. Finn, a salty ex cop, now private investigator, meets a women in a bar and has a wonderful night. Months later fate takes a hand and in walks a client who wants Finn to see if his wife is cheating. Also, in walks a beautiful women looking for a job, guess who the women is!I hope it’s a series.

💓 Gerri
Another Gerri Hill home run. When I was reading this one I kept thinking of Hunter. I loved the how we got mystery, thriller and humor all wrapped up neatly. I loved how we saw the characters became friends, and lovers. Like normal Gerri had us sitting on the edge of our seat. I definitely recommend this book.

Best Yet!
I am a big fan of Gerri Hill. I started reading her Xena fan fiction many years ago and have follower since, so I can honestly say that this book is up there as one of her top ten books! If you haven't read any of her books you are really missing out. This is a must read!

Three Great Protagonists
Gerri Hill’s books are my reading equivalent of indulging in comfort food, and ‘Moonlight Avenue’ really hit the spot – 5 StarsPrivate investigator, Finley (Finn) Knight, shared a night of passion with a young woman she met in a bar. Six months later, when the same woman shows up at her office asking for a job, Finn assumes that Rylee Moore doesn’t remember their encounter. Unable to shake her attraction to the confident young woman, Finn finds herself agreeing to employ Rylee, and it’s not long before they find themselves caught-up in an investigation that goes way beyond Finn’s usual fare of employee identity checks and surveillance of unfaithful spouses…This was a compelling read, made more so by the inclusion of a third protagonist in the shape of Detective Dee Woodward. Dee, like Finn, is pretty much a loner, and the two find they readily respect and trust each other. Dee though is unsure where Rylee fits in to the equation, and is more than a little surprised when Finn says she is not in a relationship with the young woman who is clearly as attracted to Finn as Finn is to her. Dee decides that if Finn doesn’t get her act together where Rylee is concerned, she just might ask the woman out herself! An excellent plot that included elements of crime, thriller, mystery and romance. Although not a funny book per see, the way Finn and Rylee danced around their mutual attraction also added several lighter moments. While Jake McCoy, from ‘The Killing Room’, remains my favourite Gerri Hill character, Finn has, I think, more mysteries to solve. There was, at the very close of ‘Moonlight Avenue’, perhaps just a hint that we might encounter Finn again in a future novel – I hope so.

Just missed its mark for me...
I should start by saying I'm a big Gerri Hill fan. A number of her books are five star reads for me. This however, whilst perfectly decent didn't really 'light my fire' in either thriller or romance terms. The romance is very much on the back burner and that's not a problem if the plot is riveting, but I'm afraid, it wasn't. It didn't hold a lot of threat or malice which you would expect in a romantic thriller. Her characters are as usual good but Finn is a bit too reminiscent of Hunter - grumpy, embittered by past loss, loner etc - without having Hunter's 'zing' (I love Hunter!) So whilst this was eminently readable, as usual, I didn't find this one of her best...

Her usual high standard never wains
Once again Gerri has produced a thoroughly readable romantic thriller . I have read all her books to date and enjoyed everyone. In particular her characters are fully three dimensional and seem almost to pop out of the book . I say this as a straight male with no hangups but love a good romantic story and Gerri always obliges.Hope there is a sequel to this storyline.

More stars if not too long
I love Gerri Hill books have probably read most. This one has a pretty good story but is so dragged out both the murder mystery and the romance. I don't recommend which saddens me as a fan.
