This review is for the ASURION 4 Year Home Improvement Protection Plan ($200 - $249.99). I purchased this extended warranty for a pool pump/motor assembly which had mixed online reviews regarding longevity. When the motor failed due to a bad bearing soon after expiration of the manufacturer's 12 month warranty, I made a claim via ASURION and subsequently received an Amazon git card for the original purchase price (less taxes). The online claim process was straightforward with chat assistance from a very helpful agent. Within a few days of registering my claim, I received an email indicating that repair/replacement was not viable and providing confirmation of the full reimbursemnent via Amazon gift card. I am pleased with the warranty protection provided and will consider ASURION coverage for future purchases of expensive items.

It was great and easy to use and I did buy it again on the replacement purchase.

Buyer Beware: Asurion's "Protection Plan" Proves Useless and Frustrating On July 27th, 2023, I purchased a pool pump from Amazon and, unfortunately, opted for a 4-year protection plan from Asurion. Fast forward to about three weeks ago, my pool pump started making a loud noise and, to my dismay, was leaking a significant amount of water. Living in Florida, a functioning pool pump isn't a luxury; it's a necessity to prevent the pool from turning into a green swamp in a matter of days due to the high temperatures. I immediately contacted Asurion to file a claim. After answering a series of questions, I was told it would take 3 business days to get a response, along with an email containing directions and a shipping label for the faulty pump. I was then informed that it would take another 10 days to receive a replacement. I emphasized the urgency, explaining that nearly two weeks without a pump in Florida heat would render my pool unusable and disgusting. Given the pump's value ($239) and the critical need for a working one, I had no choice but to buy a new pump myself to keep my pool functional, intending to deal with Asurion's resolution later. What followed has been a frustrating and utterly unacceptable ordeal. It's been almost three weeks since my initial claim, and Asurion's process has been nothing short of a bureaucratic nightmare. I've been repeatedly asked to upload documents and pictures, each time receiving the same "Document Received," "Thanks for your documents! We'll review and provide the next steps for your claim within 1 to 3 business days" message. This is the third time I've had to upload the same information, and I'm still stuck in this endless loop with no resolution in sight. This experience has completely eroded my trust in Asurion's protection plans. It feels like a scam designed to make it as difficult as possible to actually receive the promised coverage. My biggest disappointment, however, is with Amazon. By allowing companies like Asurion to sell these "protection plans" on their platform, Amazon is implicitly endorsing their business practices. They should be held responsible for ensuring that third-party services offered through their marketplace uphold good faith business practices. Due to this incredibly frustrating and ultimately useless "protection" experience, I have canceled my monthly subscription with Asurion for future purchases. I urge others to think twice before purchasing any protection plan from Asurion. What seems like peace of mind upfront quickly turns into a nightmare when you actually need their assistance. Save your money and avoid falling for this protection plan scam.

Easy to file a claims and quick to resolve. Will not hesitate purchase this insurance.
