Magnificent First Monograph from Liam Wong!
TO:KY:OO is Liam Wong's debut monograph. A book which was 535% funded on Vol.Co, a record on the site to this day, which shows the level of sheer support and excitement from those looking to get a collection of Liam's work in a coffee table photography book format. When you lay your hands on TO:KY:OO, you will see that this level of support was 100% justified. My only disappointment, is that I was not one of the supporters of the book original to be able to secure some special edition perks. Make no mistake, the next time Liam announces any work to ve released, I will be first in line to purchase and support the project. This monograph is 264 pages of absolute delight. If like me, you are one of the people fascinated by the allure of Tokyo and it's enchanting neon lights, you will love this book. I have never been to Tokyo, but Liams work transcends and will transport you to the captivating streets of Japan's capital from wherever you sit at the time. Each image is absorbing, from cinematic scenes of locals going about their business under the nightfall creating screenshots from a film I want to see. To rainfall puddled on the streets producing the most magical of reflections. The work here is top tier. Liam's background in video gaming is clear and adds a unique eye and atmosphere to so many of the images. There are a couple of captures here that have been printed on fold out pages which allows for the framing of stunning scenes laid out over 4 pages. A truly breathtaking viewing experience.Key to me, Liam gives invaluable details throughout the book, such as his thought process, location, technical advice such as framing. I appreciate such details knowing many monographs completely omit this. This book has just added to my desire to visit Japan and specifically Tokyo. Buy this book and you will not be disappointed. Gift this book if you know anyone interested in night or street photography, they will love it.This is 10/10 stuff which I would strongly recommend. And if you do love this, also check out Liam's second monograph, After Dark which is equally as brilliant. Also, check out Liam's own website whee you can purchase stunning signed prints from the man himself. Amazing work from a top guy worth supporting.

Nice book but should have been done in landscape format
Nice and well worth purchasing but, should have been done in landscape format.I prefer his second book “After Dark” better layout and nice use of vertical and horizontal panos.Just buy both, you won’t be disappointed 😁 it’s a nice set, if you like street photography at night then you can’t go wrong with both his books.

Great images, average quality book
Laim Wong's images in this book are superb and I would recommend this book on that alone. Unfortunately, the book is let down by the quality of the paper a little, it isn't terrible but it isn't up to the quality of most of the photography books I own.

Beautiful Tokyo Photograpy.
This is such a beautiful book and I'm taking my time going through it enjoying the photography. The only down side is that some of the images go across two pages which means the spin goes through them. I would have preferred to keep the image A4 size and just turned the book to the side to view it. Other than that a lovey book.

Get the Hardback Cover!
This book is breathtaking. From the stunning photography that takes you into the streets of Tokyo to the dialogue explaining Liam's thoughts and journey. You'll be glued to this book and not want to put it down. This is my first photography book and I cannot express how pleased I am to have this in my possession. Highly recommend you purchase this if you love the culture and essence of Tokyo.
