15015C Cat5/6 Cable Jacket Stripper , Yellow

This is definitely a handy tool to have in your tool bag. it seems to do the job on most Cat5e cables. some brands of Cat5 that are a bit cheaper and are slightly smaller in diameter are kind of loose and difficult to strip. but overall very fast way to strip the jacket off and then you are just left with the string to trim and then your ready to either crimp and end on or punch down. seems well build for a plastic tool. easy to fit in bags and pockets and its priced reasonably.

I've had one of these for a long time and it still works great. I got this as a second one for convenience by keeping one in my tool bag and one on the work bench. I've tried different ones and this is by far the best jacket stripper.

At work, we have many different tools at our disposal. I bought this for creating custom length CAT6 cables. We have several tools to cut the outer insulation, but this tool is faster and cleaner than all the other options. It’s simple but very effective!! It’s definitely worth the cost!

These are great, until the blade starts to wear down or if the cable is bigger than the rated size. It just makes it easier to handle, doesn't really do anything magical though.

i really like this tool.. however, it seems as though after a four months of using it that the blade is not as sharp as it was. I am going to continue using the cable stripper because it really does a flawless job and when i just cant stand the blade any longer i am going to see if there is a replacement blade or replace the whole tool because it really is very helpful and does an accurate job.

doesn't cut into wire

If you do much with cat5/5e/6 and don't have a jacket stripper already, buy this tool. I had always risked nicking inner insulation with a utility knife and after finally getting one of these I am kicking myself for how long I did this incorrectly. This is so easy. I even used this with Cable Matters 600MHz rated SSTP cat6a, and it worked like a champ. Cut just the outer jacket and left the inner wires all nick free. Super simple and time saving tool.

Install almost a mile of CAT6 with over 100 RJ45s and Keystones. This tool performed flawlessly every time. Simple to use, quick, and extremely accurate. Used pass-thru RJ45s; excellent job made simpler, and possible, with this tool. Highly recommend.

After fiddling with box cutters and knives, I was getting rather fed up nicking the wires in CAT6 cable. I then discovered the CAT5 CAT6 jacket cutter from Platinum Tools and it changed my views on wiring this type of cable. Just clip on the cutter, turn it clockwise a couple of times, snap off the jacket and hey presto a perfect cut and, more importantly, no nicked wires! Highly recommended for those wanting to wire up CAT5 CAT6 cables to RJ45 plugs and jacks.

Great product .. tried using an adjustable multi thickness tool I bought for RG6 cables and it was cutting slightly too deep .. this was perfect .. fast and cuts the correct depth all the time

Sure, I was a little dubious - I'll be honest, but considering lately I've been fixing a lot of CAT6 cables with different jackets, I was getting tired of struggling to strip the cables. Maybe others have great ways of doing it using their tools but for me it has always been a pain. So, I bought this on a whim just to see... and god this is fantastic! I just tested it and am buying a couple more just to have them on hand! Followed the directions and it has worked perfectly every time ... my time making these cables has dramatically decreased. Platinum Tools promotes itself as: "We make Connections EZ!" They are true to their word!

Perfect design and delicately cuts skin without any risk to nipping the cores. Delighted with compact size and reliability. Not much else out there to compete with this, so it's a simple no brainer! Will be buying a spare as obviously there's of risk of losing it! Thumbs up !
