As a busy computer technician, I'm constantly working with Ethernet cables to troubleshoot, set up, or replace networking equipment. After dealing with cheap connectors that don't always hold the wires properly, I decided to upgrade to the Platinum Tools system, and I'm so glad I made the switch!These connectors are super easy to use: NO need to cut to length first; instead, simply insert the wires in the correct order for the standard you're using and allow the wires to extend past the connectors. Oh, don't forget the strain relief jackets, which slide on smoothly yet grip tightly for a rugged hold. Then, crimp with the Platinum Tools crimping tool, which crimps and neatly trims the wires to length. Nearly every finished cable tests flawlessly without issues and greatly increased my speed and consistency!My workload has eased up thanks to reliable cabling that networks can count on for 1 Gbps and beyond. With components this durable and performance this perfect, I've been recommending Platinum Tools to others and they like them too! I call them the EZ-PZ connectors, lol.In summary, these connectors makes network cabling jobs incredibly straightforward while delivering robust, high-speed cable runs. My work is now easier and customers consistently impressed!

Although the description says blue, the strain reliefs are mixed red and blue. Company has used all blue in packages of 100 for many many years but now PT only sells them in 500 pcs. Not happy but still 4 stars because all of PT tools and products are top notch for professional use.

Purchased these for a small CAT6 job. As another reviewer pointed out, it's time consuming to get all 8 wires through in order. You have to put them through one at a time, and it's a tight fit. Once they were installed, I was having connection problems, and my tester verified that certain pins weren't making contact. I ended up cutting these off and going to a local store to buy a pack of connectors, since I was in the middle of the job. With new connectors installed, no more connectivity issues. Unfortunately, because of buying these, I ended up doing part of the job twice and adding an extra expense above my quote.

Simply flat out beats any regular connector. I like how the strain relief fits inside the connector instead of over it, much easier to deal with. Then there is the best part... with the wire protruding through the end you can 100% make sure the wires are in the correct position. Made a handful of cables and all worked right off the bat. What is also great is that the jacket is inserted nice and far in the connector--- makes for better strain relief hands down. I used Cable Matters stranded Cat6 and my Klein Tools ratcheting crimper....piece of cake. The only thing I left behind was my flush cutters.... had to take some extra time with a knife to cut off the extra that protrudes out the end.... my fault and as always a lesson learned.The only difference that I have found is that it is much easier if you strip back the jacket about 2" as there is zero concern for trying to make it all fit in the connector and not being quite the right length for the punch down to grab the jacket. I did find a bag of regular connectors at home and I am afraid I will never use them again, these are just that much easier.I also did not read the description so I thought I was getting just blue strain reliefs which was fine with me.... instead it does come with blue, red, and gray which was even better!

This product is great! I ran a ton of Cat6 cables while my house was being built. When it cam time to start adding terminal connections, I used the standard Cat6 connections and probably had a 30-40% failure rate. I'm not a pro installer, but fairly handy and it was very frustrating to go thru all of the effort to add a connector only to have it fail. These connectors from Platinum are the exact opposite! They are fantastic. I had a 100% success rate and made them in less time. Worth the extra money.

I recently had to wire up my parents house, so I decided to try using up the rest of these connectors.This time I tried cutting the cable jacket back a bit further and feeding the wires into the connector one at a time.This was MUCH easier than following the instructions provided with the connectors.I'm changing my review from two for four stars, since it's still a bit tricky to feed the wires into the connector.******** Original review (from 2012) *************I just spent four hours making four cables. Yes, an HOUR per cable.They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results.Well, shoving CAT6 wires into these (insert the most vulgar expletive here) connectors is insanity.I tried cutting the wires on an angle, but actually had better luck, if you could call it that, cuttingthem straight. It often took upwards of twenty attempts to get the wires through the connectors in the right order.The only good thing about them, at least when it comes to CAT6 cabling, is that you feel like you've wonthe lottery when the wires slide though the connector AND they're in the right order.I'm giving them TWO stars, because if you happen to get the wires through the connector, the tool and connectorswork very well.As of now, my voice is hoarse from yelling expletives at the top of my lungs, and my blood pressureis at dangerous levels. Save yourself some major frustration, and DON NOT buy these for CAT6 cables.
