NO WARRANTY ON THESE SPEAKERS (4 purchased, 2 have failed so far)
WOW. WHERE DO I START?I bought 2 sets of these speakers. They sound great. Tremendous. Wonderfull.But..They go badI bought 4 of them and only 2 still work. So, paid twice the price.I then thought.. No... Harmon is a good company.WRONGI tried to file a warranty claim. If you go on their website you will find these speakers are listed with a 3 year warranty. (Infinity multi-component car audio). Then is where it all goes horribly wrong.you look for how to file a warranty clain. First you are told to contact the seller (oh, did I mention you are to contact the "factory authroized internet seller"? So I contacted the seller. I received the following:Our records show this purchase was made in July - at this time, you will need to contact the manufacturer for further assistance. So, each says to contact the other.Fine.So I went back to the factory website. They asked for my zip code, which I input (I live in suburb of Los Angeles...) I then received the bad new."We're sorry but there are currently no service center in your area. Please contact Infinity at the following number to find a service center near you."then they give a phone number.I call the phone number, and it again asks for my zip code and then reads the above message to me. After the message was done it kindly asked me if I wanted to hear it again.So,......THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY TO GET ANY FACTORY WARRANTY SERVICE ON INFINITY CAR SPEAKERS. THEIR WARRANTY IS A LIE.I now have paid 2 times the normal price for 4 speakers 2 of which work and 2 that do not.Oh, in case it seems I am one of these people that overcrank and destroy speakers? I have used these 4 speakers in 2 cars, using a sony head unit. Total output of the headunit is 56 watts peak X4 or 17 watts RMS.The first speaker to go bad developed a scratching noise on music. I could turn the sound to the other side or to the front and the scratching noise went away. So, I took the 2 speakers I bought for my other car, and installed one of them in place of the scratchy speaker. Blissfull sound again. Then about 1 week later, my headunit said "failure" onscreen and the sound went noticably down. I thought the head unit was down or the wiring. I tried another head unit (also for my other car) and it did the same. The odd thing was the radio played fine for 5-10 minutes before the failure message. I noticed at that time that the amplifier portion of the radio was becoming burning hot, so I suspected a bad (shorted) wire to the speaker. I disconneted the radio and checked the wire to ground and found an intermittent short to ground.I then disconnected the speaker wires one by one and each wire was fine. That is when I found the speaker wire going into the speaker would short to ground when it was wiggled. I removed it and installed my OTHER (4th) NEW SPEAKER in the car. Finally it is working OK. Oh, the first speaker set was bought in December of 2012 so it is less than a year old. Plenty of warranty left right?WRONGI have bought 4 speakers and only 2 of them work For how long? Who can say. All I know is I feel cheated that I can purchase nice speakers but with a 50% failure rate so far, I am not sure they will last much beyond.. .today.IF infinity contacts me and straightens out their warranty system and repairs my 2 speakers, I will update this review. But for now... BEWARE OF INFINITY 6X9 CAR SPEAKERS. THEY ARE FLIMSY AND HAVE NO USABLE WARRANTY.

Great Speakers
These speakers are truly great sounding speakers. I ordered mine about a week ago. The shipping was 3-15 days and they came in three (all the way from CA to PA). However this doesnt contribute at all to my 5 star rating because I'm rating the product, not Amazon.I installed them three days ago. They are fairly heavy, with a massive magnet underneath (infinitys are known for this). They are very easy to set up once u get them in the speaker locations in your car. All you do is split the speaker wire, strip it, and put it in the + and - slots. Now onto the actual sound of the speakers. I ordered mine hoping that i would not need any subs. Luckily, the speakers have a great sounding bass. The bass is extremely accurate, as mentioned in a few other reviews, but not a bad accurate. When i read those reviews i thought that this "accurate bass" was not a deep, car shaking bass, but it is. It sounds great. Also, whomever said in those reviews that the bass isn't great, I dont know what they were hearing. It sounds amazing. Great bass people isn't those stupid subs that shake the road and just sound ridiculous. The highs are also very good. I havent even installed my front door panel speakers and i would be fine with just my 6x9 infinitys. There is also a little button to lower the db by 3 if you want, but i just left it without the -3 db.In conclusion, get these speakers. For the money, they are great. Im sure there are better ones out there, but if you want better, plan on spending over 250 for a set.Side note; I have heard they sound even better with an amp. You may want to consider this. (Im too cheap to justify one haha)Side note 2: I added a 100w amp powering these and my front speakers. The sound is amazing. Pair these with a cheap amp ~$100~ And you will not need a sub unless you want to shake loose a couple brain cells.

Once again what can you say
This is one of the best 6x9 pairs you can buy for under 200 dollars. Efficiency, power, clarity, balance, quality, all of these descriptors come to mind when describing this product. This will be mys second par of this series of Kappa. Makes a world of difference when it comes to sound in your vehicle. I am installing this into my second vehicle which is a convertible. So having a strong sound system is imperative. I would also recommend buying a four channel amp for these if you are looking to get the full advantage of these speakers. I have the kappa Five amp, 4 channel 52w rms and a 300w mono block sub amp built in. I run the exact same set up in both cars. The only difference is that one has an 8 inch sub, and one has a 10 inch sub. I also am running Kappa perfect components which sound fan freakin tastic. Bottom line.. buy these or any other Kappa/Kappa Perfect Series and you are on the money for some really good sound. I really like the connection terminals that come with all kappa series speakers. It just feels so solid using the clamp down connections on these speakers. NO soldering, no crimping, no electrical tap, just a good solid connection. If you can help it make shore you buy the Kappa subs as well viewing the fact that they have the same kind of set up. I have reference series subs and they while good, you get your regular shoddy connection terminals that you have to fuss over to get a good connection. I have always been a fan of Infinity, but every time I buy another product I start lovin them more.

Infinity - Kappa 693.9I
