Good quality
I have ordered this several times to use in making suet blocks for birds in winter. It has always proven to be of good quality and clean.

There's a reason why Grandma's fried potatoes tasted so good.
First this is lard and hydrogenated lard, you can buy pure lard but my supermarket does not carry lard at all so I went with this. Love it. My grandpa was born on a farm in SD in 1909 and used to tell me how his mom made homemade bread and he would get it hot from the oven and slather lard on it and how good it was. To my mind he was talking about Crisco.Well, this is what you want to fry with, or butter, another natural fat our bodies require for good health. Throw out your icky canola and vegetable oil and fry with lard. More expensive? Yes, but a little lard goes a long way. For potatoes try this: Cast iron skillet, pre-warmed to medium-hi, a tablespoon of lard. Microwave 2 potatoes until they are just shy of being fully cooked, slice them as you like, season as you like (Sea salt, garlic, dried peppers, paprika for me), toss them in and cook for about 10 minutes turning heat down to medium. While cooking, get your broiler going. Add some more paprika, pop under broiler for 5 minutes or under browned to taste. From the first bite you will wonder how you ever cooked with anything else. Give your body the fats it is designed to consume: animal fats. I also take almost cooked vegetables and give them a quick stir-fry in my cast iron. I can do 24 ozs of veggies with just an 1/8 of a cup or less. But for french fries, chicken, fish, hush puppies, the taste can't be beat. Try it.

The real deal BUY IT!!!
In a world of misinformation, REAL fat at the end of the day is better for youthen substitutes, synthetics this or that. We shouldn't be pumping fat into our bodiesbut if one must use the REAL thing, in the long run your better off.Deep frying with corn oil is a joke !! Cancer in a bucket!!!Use this for your french fries, and home made potato chips.Remember the 60's Wise potato chips? The drive in French fries? They tasted better because this lard was used to cook them.Steer clear of fake fats, buy the Armour Lard, it's the real deal. [pork].YOU wont find this in super stores, those stores use a Nomenclature ofphony fats and call it Lard. !!!NOT Armour, this is real.BE WARE !!! These people do not know how to ship this stuff. It arrived in a box LOOSE no fillers. The fat was all over the box.THE TOP POPPED OFF. The inner plastic seal is weak and notmeant to protect from a free fall.It was a one hour clean up to retrieve the fat and put it back in the bucket. And ruined my pants and shirt in the process. The reason for 4 stars, terrible shipping skills.
