Can this keyboard be used simultaneously with a laptop's built in American one to switch between languages, without changing system settings?

Yes. Please note that the keyboard is just an inputting device. The languages are controlled and enabled by software Apps and/or Windows OS. When you follow the prompts in enabling a foreign language in setting, select the toggle switch between language which Windows would appear near you laptop's clock, from which you may toggle between languages... just like that :-) We were able to Google Enabling Foreign Language Input on Windows® 10: You can edit documents in multiple languages by changing the language (the input language) in which you type. Input languages are included with Windows, but you need to add them to your list of languages before you can use them. 1. Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Regional and Language Options. 2. Click the Keyboards and Languages tab, and then click Change keyboards. 3. Under Installed services, click Add. 4. Double-click the language you want to add, double-click the text services you want to add, select the text services options you want to add, and then click OK.

How do you make the q key make the at key?

That function is for the software, the keyboard is just an inputting device, whatever application software or language software you are using determines which key to print for what letter. Try using the Shift and other key combinations, which you may find by Googling it.

Does this keyboard work with Linux?

Not sure... this keyboard is intended and supports Windows. We heard that it even work partially with Mac (no F Keys), while with Linux, no one reported any troubles failure or successes, you might as well try it yourself. Good Luck.

What is bilingual about this? It looks like a normal German keyboard.

It allows me to type in my native English and also in German when I need to.

Confirmed German ISO (QWERTZ) Keyboard - Works Well

I required a German ISO Keyboard for embedded Linux support of the extra key not present on US ANSI (QWERTY) keyboards. Keyboard seems good quality with good key press response. Please keep in mind this is a German ISO keyboard and you will need to add German keyboard support to your OS (Windows 10, IOS, etc). I would highly recommend this keyboard to anyone looking for a good German ISO keyboard.

Don't work anymore

This is the worst keyboard I ever have had. First the some letters couldn't be read anymore (A, S, D, C, O partly not to read anymore/ E disappeared totally). Now some keys don't work anymore and so I cannot use this keyboard anymore.. Purchased in Feburary 2022 now it is end of June 2022. Rubbish.

Use Alt Gr to get @

I love this keyboard because I am studying German, but using the keyboard for regular purposes, you need to know to: Use 'Alt Gr' to get '@' for email addresses. I also have found that Rosetta Stone is already set up and so you are best leaving Windows on ENG keyboard layout whilst using your German qwertz :-) for that website, but DEU is great for Lingoda etc.

Useful for dual language purposes

I correspond both in English and German. It took me a while to figure out how to get certain characters. It comes without instructions. I love that the umlauts are easy to access.

German Keyboard

Got this for my husband so he doesn't have to keep trying to remember where the German Keys are vs. English. It was easy to set up and he really likes it.

Not the keyboard pictured

I bought this before. Just bought it a second time. The keyboard that just arrived is different. It is much louder, which I find to be annoying. Also, the F keys at the top do not work the same. I can't even adjust my computer's volume with this new keyboard. Really disappointed. Will change my review if I can get the proper keyboard sent out.

Worst keyboard I ever used

Worst keyboard ever, every key has a different force needed to trigger. Also the sound of some keys is giving me a cringe. Will return the keyboard for sure
