Madeira Cutting and Carving Board, Teak Edge-Grain, 20" x 14"

A quality board. It's an optimal size for food prep: More than enough cutting area for chopping meats and vegetables & keeping them all organized, while the footprint doesn't take over the entire table or countertop. I also like that it's not overly thick or heavy, makes it easy to move around and store (and it's plenty stable while it's being worked on, no sliding around at all).Both sides of the board work well for cutting. I tend to use the side without the juice groove more, it's easier to slide chopped veggies off the all-flat surface. But I'm looking forward to trying out roast chicken or turkey on the groove side come Autumn.I ordered this board a while ago but only lately have started using it on a regular basis. I've conditioned and maintained it with food-grade mineral oil; the teak absorbs it pretty well, in fact you probably don't need too much oil to keep the wood in good shape.

I always wanted a nice cutting board. Upon seeing how beautiful this board was I got one. Didn't think about any negatives, I mean its a chunk of wood...Naive meFirst I do love this board. My one regret is that I should have bought the bottle of oil for cutting boards because the more I use it, and I use it allot, it looks a bit duller than when I got it. That is one thing I need to correct.I have a galley kitchen and cheap laminate so I wanted something I could leave out on a narrow counter and use it. It has become irreplaceable. Other than the dullness I love it. Its substantial in size and is holding up great so far.I've been using it for around a month daily. Cutting breads, cheese, veggies and fruit. I am not using it for meat. Perhaps its ok to but I don't like using the same board so I may get a smaller one to use for meats.I recommend this board, but please consider the oil for cutting boards. When I paid what I did for the board, I should have treated it like an investment, but you live and learn. I am seeing more of these cutting boards in my future :)

Updated review:I felt the need to come back here and correct my review below. Yes, the board did warp after a few uses and I was disappointed. In my attempt to save the beautiful board, I decided to add a lot more mineral oil to the board (both sides) and let it sit out over night. The board once again laid flat as it did when new. This was user error. I have regularly applying mineral oil after a few uses. We have been doing that now after about 4 uses and we haven't had anymore problems with the board. It truly is a beautiful product.(This was my original review) We loved the wood, it is truly beautiful, however, after applying the proper 7 coats of mineral oil and some medium usage (few times a week), its now warped and won't lay flat. We have only rinsed it with water and dish soap, no dishwasher, so after a month of use it's no longer a great buy. Disappointed that it warped so quickly. Our other cheaper board took years to do that. Very disappointed.

This is a good quality cutting board and for a great price. I bought this board almost a year ago now and it is holding up great considering i use it almost every day! I love the large size and the added grooves are good for catching those loose pieces of veggies that would normally end up over all over the counter. The one down side is that they make it difficult to sweep off of the board and into the pot. I typically grab with my hand/knife anyways so this doesn't bother me much. As for upkeep i did buy a mineral oil with this board and applied about 5 times to each side in the beginning(directions recommend 10). I continued about 1 a week for the first month and have done about 1 a month from that point on. I also am very careful about wiping the board down after washing and keeping dry. The board has held up incredibly well to cutting and has some wittiness marks but not enough to make a depression. There has been a little bit of warp in the board but it is very slight and unnoticeable when using.

I'm a huge fan of this cutting board. Enough of a fan that I am actually taking time to write a five-star product review about a cutting board!I am an avid home cook. I cook just about every single day and I'm always chopping something.This cutting board is sturdy and has a nice large size but is also relatively light-weight compared to many others.This isn't a huge deal for me because I have big muscles, and tossing around heavy cutting boards is part of my daily, strong guy lifestyle -- but my wife always told me that she'd cook a lot more (and clean more cutting boards) if they weren't so darn heavy..So now she has no excuse and has been cooking up a storm ever since this one came out of the box.Also -- it's really nice looking and takes GREAT social media pics -- also doubles as a fantastic serving platter to impress your dinner guests.Five Stars.

Arrived well packaged and in great shape. Needed to oil it before using but that only enhanced its appearance. My partner says it's the perfect cutting board.
