Less a guide, more a work of art. I was very disappointed there’s nothing about locating the vortexes yet the word ‘secret’ is used in the title. The ‘secret’ part is they have photographed fairly inaccessible areas that only intrepid hikers will see. Not recommended if you want to see Sedona as a tourist.

This purchase was to give me a preview of an upcoming visit to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. It is a beautiful book by a skilled photographer who also created the eloquent text. Larry Lindahl has observed the canyon over many seasons and the book is a treasure.

This is not a guide book, however, it has beautiful pictures that inspired me to visit some of the different sights. Would have been nice to know exactly where some of the pictures were taken in order to plan visit. However, after reviewing all the other Sedona books, I settled on this. As several other reviews have stated, this is more of a coffee table book. I did not find the references to trail locations to be specific enough to find on maps. The Sedona Map and Guide has very detailed guides with difficulty rating.

Excellently written. Informative, beautiful and inspiring. Worth much more than the price.

This was purchased as a gift for my who loves Sedona. She was very happy to receive it as it is full of great information and beautiful photos. Put together nicely and she said reading it was a beautiful way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Of course Larry Lindahl would have beautiful photography in a book. But we also did some of the hikes that he recommends and they were as good as he said.

This book is huge! I guess I didn't read the measurements properly but it is not an easy book to take with you anywhere, maybe ideal to just stay on a bookshelf or coffee table. I bought this as a gift for someone who is traveling to Sedona and after looking through it I realized it wouldn't be very helpful to them. It has great photography but it is essentially just a bunch of journal entries with a very small section in the back with hiking trail suggestions. I returned it.
