Art Therapy: Enchanted Forest Review: A beautiful book with thick paper and intriguing images. - I ordered this book because it was a hard covered adult coloring book. I believed that the images would be what I look for in this type of book. I WAS RIGHT! I took out my FEELA colored pencils set, and sat down to color one of the pages, just to see if I was gonna like the paper. I definitely like the paper. It is thick and smooth, and the Feela pencils are performing beautifully. I'm not finished coloring the page as yet. I'm the world's slowest colorist. I will add a photo of the page when I do finish it. I do want to say that the pages are printed on both sides. I have not tried any wet media as yet, but the paper is really nicely thick, so I'm certain that gel-pens won't cause any problems. I cannot say whether alcohol or water-based markers will cause any bleed-through. I am certain that you will like the paper as much as I do. It almost feels like cardstock! The images on the pages are relatively detailed, and most of the pages have some grayscale included in the designs. Some of the design elements are repeated a couple times, but that doesn't bother me in the least. They are beautiful, and compelling. I believe that anyone who likes the images on the cover, will love what's on the inside. Let me know if this review helped you decide to purchase this book. Thanx, Mindy Review: Delightful Style of Illustration - If you grew up on books illustrated in early 1900's, and always wanted to color them in, or just really enjoy that old-school style of illustration, then this is the coloring book for you. The thick pages take gel pens perfectly (no bleed through), and they're filled with fairies, gnomes, wizards, flowers, unicorns and many other forest creatures, scenes and patterns. Whether you're in the mood for a fully composed scene, a complex repeating pattern, or a combination of both, you'll have plenty of choice. I couldn't be happier with this choice.

Has some nice scenes, but also some of the same repetitive ...
Has some nice scenes, but also some of the same repetitive patterns you see in all the coloring books for adults these days. This is a hardcover book, the pages are very heavy non-glossy cardstock. The images are on both sides of the pages, so i would be cautious before using gel or markers. There are some gorgeous drawings, of forest scenes, complete with gnomes, fairies, etc. But this is also another book heavy with repetitive pattern pages reminiscent of wall paper. Some of the pages have good detail and some parts are lots of white space which would allow for a colorist's talent for shading. The book is roughly 2 inches taller than most coloring books and is not one you would be tempted to carry around with you. I would reserve it for periods where you have a larger work surface.

Great high quality, beautiful, fun pages to work on
I really do enjoy this coloring book. The pages are of great quality and my gel pens don't bleed into the other side. The images are really fun to work on. The only problem I have with it is that some of the images are large and it can eat up my ink. I'm going to look into buying watercolor pens for the larger spaces.

NOT Art Therapy!
This is NOT art therapy. I am an art therapist and I have worked hard for my degree. Coloring, while possibly a therapeutic activity, is not art therapy and I wish authors would refrain from using the term to sell books!

Enchanted by The Enchanted Forest
The joy this book has brought me is unreal. The designs are beautiful, enchanting and absorbing. Most markers do not bleed through on these pages. However, thicker paint markers or some more fluid paint tip markers do bleed through. If you have anxiety or require self-care or just enjoy art therapy or even coloring, this book is great, good quality and worth the money.

Beautiful and therapeutic
Beautiful and therapeutic! Would recommend for adults & older children/children with more interest in detail and longer projects. I love whipping this out after a stressful day at work and it's also a huge hit at gatherings with my gal pals (we're all in our 20's, it's fine).

This truly is a stunning book. The theme is of a mythical forest including pictures inspired by King Arthur such as the sword in the stone. There are also some images that are very celtic in design which really appealed to me. There's a really good mixture of big bold patterns and very intricate designs so something for everyone. When colouring, I found that being a hardback, the book stayed flat so I didn't have to constantly hold it which was great. The paper is also much better quality than in other books I have used. The amazon listing is incorrect however, the book is by Jacqui Small not Marthe Mulkey! Overall I would highly recommend the Enchanted Forest - great book at a great price. Happy colouring!!

I love this book. It's got beautiful drawings in many different styles and a beautiful hard cover. Love all the Art Therapy series, this may be my new favourite.
