It takes a while to get used to the weight of it but actually the extra weight helps rolling the dough and is non stick, I'm loving it and it looks great too.I purchased this item at full price and I can guarantee that the price I paid won’t affect the way I review my products, I do this because I base my purchase decisions on reviews and there is nothing worse than getting something other than what you expected based on the reviews you read, so I’ll always try to give the facts about the product first followed by my personal opinion. As far as my ratings they are as follows:5 STARS ★★★★★ I highly recommend this product and I will be purchasing it again myself when I need another one of these as well as I tell my friends and family about it if they need a similar product.4 STARS ★★★★☆ I recommend this product but I feel there is something that could be improved on to make it great. It does what a marble rolling pin is designed to do. The weight and smoothness of the marble allow you to flatten dough (or whatever) with ease. Certainly beautiful enough to display on your counter, if you have the room. The packaging/protection for the shipping process was excellent, and my rolling pin arrived in perfect condition. I chose the charcoal marble color because it was less expensive and I store it away anyway, but I am convinced by the quality and attractive looks that either of the marbles (white or charcoal) would be something anyone would be happy to have sitting on their countertop.

This is a heavy and practical rolling pin, notwithstanding the striking good looks of the elegant black marble. Because it is heavy, it is quick and easy to roll out dough just by holding the attached handles, rolling back and forth, and letting the weight of the pin do the work. At ten inches in length, it is suitable for nearly all baking tasks. This also makes an excellent gift for the holidays for anyone who enjoys baking.

I love this rolling pin. It looks absolutely gorgeous in the kitchen. When I received it, the handles were already screwed in and came in a mangled box. Luckily the rolling pin was in fine shape.My biggest concern is the marble center is much heavier than the quality of the handles seems to be able to take on. The handles are screwed in cheaply and are not of a great quality wood. The good news is you can rescrew them back in if you need to or take them off completely and just use the marble roller by itself without handles.The picture shows a large piece of wood that holds the pin when not in use. That was not delivered to me, it was a small piece of wood only a few inches. It holds it just fine, but the picture is very misleading for the size I ordered.Overall I recommend this pin, just for it's looks and quality of marble. The handles seem like they won't last, but I used to using pins without handles. Just roll it over your hands.

Just what I needed, after reading all of the reviews I decided to purchase this rolling pin, thank you all for the honest reviews by the way. I received it today, not only was the packaging superb, so is the rolling pin, it is Fox Run brand, it is heavy and just perfect for my needs, not only is this a great addition to my cooking utensils, it is a great eye piece on my kitchen counter, I am highly pleased with this purchase, if you are concerned with the size, it is longer than a one foot kitchen ruler overall, I have also purchased the Fox Run marble pastry board, I can't wait to get it. I would highly recommend this, it arrived with no damages, packaged very well and superior quality.

I gave this marble rolling pin to my daughter-in-law for Christmas. It is very heavy to give you even dough thickness when you roll it out. She leaves it sitting it out when not in use. It is a beautiful marble roller that sits on a wooden base. The picture does not do the marble justice. I would recommend this rolling pin to someone looking for one that is weighted and would be able to roll thin dough nicely as well as thick dough.

I have this as a display piece but it is fully functional and it is very smooth. Maybe someday I will use it.

This is a well made, heavy duty marble rolling pin that looks nice enough sitting in its stand to sit on the counter top for easy storage. I have not had any issues with mine as other's have had with the holes not being center. I would say that this pin is worth the risk that you might have to send a defective one back to get one that is perfect like mine was. Dough falls off easy and the weight makes it a joy to use.

I had been using a cheaper rolling pin that had edges that would cut through my pizza dough when rolling it out. This rolling pin is great, nice and heavy and I can roll my dough perfectly. Great value for the money.

I really like this rolling pin. It's awesome for rolling out pie crusts.

Packaging:Poor - It came inside a cardboard box, with no packing materials securing the rolling pin in place. Oddly, the wooden stand was bubble wrapped. The pin had obviously slid around inside the box, as it was damaged. In addition, there was no protective wrapping of any kind on the pin itself to prevent damage.Quality:Abysmal. Scratched, nicked, and chipped upon arrival. There was also a crack running a few inches down the side. In addition, I don't believe it was marble. If it is, it's extremely low quality. It did not look like marble, and wasn't heavy enough either.Fit and Finish:Also abysmal. The most basic function of a rolling pin is to roll smoothly across a flat surface. This wasn't possible, as both ends were wobbling when tested. Upon further inspection, I discovered that the holes for the bearings/handles were drilled off-centre on both ends - in OPPOSITE directions. In addition, the pin was not perfectly round and had lots of imperfections in the surface flatness. Any basic quality control test should have caught this, and indicates to me that this is not a one off event.I am returning for a refund, and will not be purchasing any of their products in future.

I needed something that had some weight to it and this definitely does. Rolls very smoothly
