Buy extras because one may lose its programming
You definitely need a pro to program them but they have been working well for the last 5 months. I bought 4 since my locksmith programs them for free after the initial set up. I figured they were cheap enough that I wanted some insurance in case one or two failed. And glad I did since one did lose its programming. Still way cheaper than the dealer.

Not compatible
I finally took my key throb to have a program. I have the key however it cannot be programmed. You have to have a actual Mercedes Benz keythrob. I didn't realize that. I thought it was compatible. I just recently did that took it to the dealer and when you look at the inside or the button that would go into the ignition is completely different. It's like a red screen or something to it but they were definitely not able to program it again. You have to get it from the actual dealership unfortunately.. And it's been awhile since I've had the item so I don't know if it's even returnable. So basically I guess I will have to see if the company is willing to refund it because it is not doing me any good sitting around. It definitely does not work with my vehicle and they said it would work with the CLA 250 Mercedes 2018 and it does not..

Works well
Don’t buy this if you don’t have a way to program it! A dealership won’t touch it, but if you or someone you know has a key programmer it works great! I programmed it to my 2006 E320 in just a couple minutes with an Autel IM508 and XP400 pro. Every function works as it should. The only issue I’ve found is that if I start the car with the factory key and then try and use this one immediately afterwards, the car won’t start the first try. I have to turn it on, off and back on for it to work.

Works if you know what you’re doing
You cannot simply buy this key and start your car. You need to program it yourself or have someone else do it. I used this key to add an additional key to a w211. Autel im508 pro w/ xp400. ~40 minutes to calculate password from original key. Car started up cannot complain.

Amazing Way to Save Big $ on new MB Key
I broke my MB E350 key fob trying to get into it without first reviewing You Tube videos. My bad. So then I needed a new MB key fob. Mercedes told me it would cost $400 for a new one. But THERE IS A MUCH BETTER WAY! I ordered this look alike key fob (the only difference is the MB logo on the front is missing - see photo). The key even came with a new battery. It is exactly like the original, but of course won't work unless it's programmed. My solution was to take apart my broken key fob and remove the circuit board (see You Tube videos). Then I reinstalled the circuit board in the new key fob. Wow! It works perfectly! Total cost $25. Saved $375 and only took a while to review You Tube videos and make sure the model key fob I ordered matched my FCC ID/ model. The actual work to open the old key fob and the new one and insert the new circuits took probably 30 minutes. Problem solved at a fraction of the cost!

Do your homework b4 u buy
So I read the reviews b4 doing my homework and paid the $25 in vain. After I got the key I called several locksmiths in my area and only one was able 2 do it and said he needed 2 stay with the vehicle 4 one day. I live in providence RI and the price he gave me was $250. I contacted the mercedes and I would get the key for $300 I did not need 2 take my car with me as based on the vin they would simply order the key and call me once it arrived. Well it only took 2 days . So ended up paying $325 since I ordered the key as locksmiths need 2 use a decoder 2 pretty much hack 2 obtain the code they need in order 2 program key. It's a personal choice I guess
