Fantastic microphone!
I've ordered this microphone with the H5, and boy am I impressed!Pros:+ Great, clean sound quality+ The included windscreen does a good job at preventing the wind from messing up the recording+ Very directional, however sounds coming from behind are not completely blocked outCoins:- As with any other microphone, you will hear noise in the recording, removing it using software might be necessary after completing the recording- Doesn't include a case for storing the microphone while traveling

Clear, clean, uncolored audio
At first I thought this would be a pretty mediocre device from the looks of it. However, to my surprise it performed admirable. It does a great job on human voice delivering clear, uncolored tones which is exactly why I bought it: for interviews. It has a great super cardioid patter that pick up clear discernible vocals from 10 ft. If it works equally as well on music it will be a bonus. Strangely, no windscreen is included, but I bough a cheap one just for looksPros: Good vocal reproduction, great pick-upCon: No windscreen, ugly plastic-like silver paint.

The perfect match with your Zoom H6
This boom mic is more sophisticated than you think. It has built in tech that makes it the perfect compliment to the H6. Of course it was designed for the H6 and it takes advantage of this pairing very well. The audio is clear and crisp and I could not detect any hiss like I have with the H4n.

Don't expect a 416
When I first purchased this I was thrilled to have a quick, go-to shotgun. It sounds great when you listen to it by itself. However, I made the mistake of setting up a coincident MKH 416 and it subsequently sounded like a toy. Still a neat little mic for the price but it will sadly not be the 416 on my location narration recordings.

poor non professional qualityt
this mic is not very directional and it pulls in all kinds of ambient noise. Wireless mics have better quality. use a sure sm58 or sure sm7b. those are my go to mics. sorry to be the bearer of bad news, and now im very disapointed in this zoom product.

The ZOOM H6 is not complete without this.
Let's get one thing straight. If you are going to be doing interviews, or anything that requires the focusing on a sound "source" directly in front of you, then you need this mic. I have used Røde miss before and while they are good, they don't offer on-board sound processing and monitoring. This microphone does. If you are in an environment that all of a sudden gets noisy, turn the dial/gain down on the microphone as well as the Zoom H6 body and you are able to compensate. You can't do that with an on-board mic on your DSLR unless it's high end (2500k or more, usually) nor can you do it with the Røde mic, and thats not to throw jabs. It's just the truth. The pickup pattern on this microphone is like a slim triangle...sound falls off from the sides so that the source in front gets paid the most attention. The item is very well made, and feels extremely sturdy. I wouldn't allow it to be dropped multiple times though as its most likely aluminum and has some soft elements to it. It will scratch or dent if you are not careful...and like to drop it on surfaces like cement.

Great mic!
Great addition to the H6, far superior to camera mounted mics that I have used. 3 mics in one, works flawlessly. I have been using it in the field in conjunction with lav and boom mics and it is incredibly pin pointed and as accurate as a laser. It is a must for film makers!

Too bright, but good quality overall.
This mic is overall of very good quality. I am using it with Zoom's H5 recorder (which I also love) and the noise floor is very low and I like that it is not sending the signal over an unbalanced connection like the Rode VideoMic does. And, overall, I think the side rejection is better than the VideoMic. Having said that, it is a very bright mic with very little low end, so it sounds rather unnatural. It's almost like hearing my voice through a phone speaker. Considering that the VideoMic is nearly the exact same price, I'd still suggest getting the VideoMic.
