Good touch off alternative for CNC mills
This tool touch off is perfect alternative for a Machinist who has an older mill that doesn’t have a renishaw auto touch off probe set up. We have one on our Haas with NGC controls, but we recently re hooked up an older Fadal and wanted to bring it into the current state of work/tool offset touch off that we could. A little bit of brainstorming after using this product we did. The base is very sensitive and holds true after our first week of use and has made touching off tools faster for our old machine. Still have to offset it the length of the base but being that they made it an even size is nice. Product is heavy and made well. Price vs speed is well worth it. To note though it does need a full current to actually light up. Doesn’t show in the instructions on paper. Had to go to the Accusize website to find it needed to be a full 360 connection/ground to make the light work. Which isn’t an issue in the machine. But testing before you put in you’ll need to parallels to your table outside of the machine to see it light up.

Useful and accurate. Hard to preset out of the box.
PRO's: Seems accurate within +/-0.0001" for me. Mag base works nice. Its three recessed magnets, so chips don't stick to the bottom directly and interfere. Has screws for calibrating and and leveling.CON's: Does not come preset or level (atleast in my case). Looking at the insides shows the lack of precision parts. The height adjustment is a screw tightened by set screws which can mar the screw itself. The instructions are useless.

Repeatable
I use this for resetting CNC positions when replacing Z axis motors. Works great. It has to be grounded though so keep that in mind. Ceramic spindle bearings won't activate the light. Ceramic inserts won't either, the solution is to touch a piece of wire to the tool and to the CNC table. While the spindles off obviously....

Nicely made unusable part
Nicely made, would not light up. They sent me a picture on how to use. Iam a machinist. I know how to use it. So iam saying there customer service isn't that good.

Junk
The batteries in this POS were DOA.Tried changing the batteries, but the skill and patience required to screw the lid back on while keeping the loose contact spring in its seat is that of a tea sipping ninja.

Not worth the money
I had to work on it a bit to get it to work smoothly, not worth the $100+ bucks i paid for it, its just not high enough quality

Works as intended
Not much to say about a device like this one, It has a really specific use that only a very small number of people in certain lines of work will ever need. It does work as intended, with the red light coming on only when all the sensors (top and bottom) are touching a piece of conductive metal. It has a strong magnet in the base and is easy to adjust, height-wise.
