FireMagic Chicken Holder

This is made of non-magnetic stainless steel, which means it should not rust. It is 7-5/8 inches long and 6-5/8 inches in diameter expandable to 7 1/4 plus. The hole for the square or hexagon rotisserie rod is 3/4 inches in diameter. This is too large for my 3/8 diameter which holds the chicken off centre. This causes the basket to scrape the inside of my Black and Decker Rotisserie Convection Oven model# TO4314SSD. I believe it will work if I make a 3/8 bushing to centre the basket. I found a spacer at McMaster Carr[...]. All I need to do is drill a 1/4 inch hole through the side of it. By the way this oven will does do the convection mode in the rotisserie setting and should be called Black and Decker Rotisserie or Convection Oven.  Black & Decker TO4314SSD Rotisserie Toaster Oven, Silver  I will update with results.

Great addition to our grilling accessories but we don't only use it for chicken. Beef Roast, Lamb Roast & Pork Tenderloin have all been used within this holder and it works great. For my grilling experience - it is not a stand alone tool, I use an additional Spit Meat Fork to secure the roast and or chicken at the opposite end. All in all GREAT TOOL and it holds everything in place.

After using it a couple of times, I can attest to the fact that this product does make it (at least a little) easier to get a chicken on (and centered/balanced) on your spit. Also, the hole seems big enough that this thing will work even with gigantic spit rods.My biggest complaint is how much it costs--significantly more than a pair of spit forks. Initially, I justified the purchase by telling myself that purchasing this holder would prevent me from having to buy a new (second) set of spit forks so I could spin to chickens at once. Unfortunately, this is not true. For the chicken to stay in this holder, you need to use a spit fork on the open end. So, I had to go and buy a second set of spit forks so I could use one with this holder. Maybe it should be called "half-a-chicken holder" since it is not capable of holding a chicken by itself.

I already had Fire Magic's Turkey holder and it has been such a hit that I had to get the chicken holders as well. This makes rotisserie chicken so easy. I bought three so I can easily rotisserie multiple birds at a time. Much better and faster than tying the birds with string. Handles small birds with ease, and I have cooked chickens up to four pounds with no problem. We use these holders at least once or twice a week as freshly cooked birds are so much better than chickens that have been sitting under a heat lamp at Costco or Target. Super easy, it only takes 45 minutes to "spin a bird". The chickens taste great on their own, but are terrific on salads and in recipes. I also used these to cook goose and it was terrific. The spit clamps fit my Weber rotisserie spit just fine, but would easily fit spits of much larger diameter if needed. They clean up easily and are not showing any sings of rust or corrosion.

Good product! A bit small for the organic chickens we purchased from some amazing Wisconsin farmers, but the description of the product was mostly accurate in terms of size.

Best darn rotisserie chicken holder I've ever used. Come to think of it it's the only one i've ever used. Get them little wings in there just right so they're not floppin' around burning to a smoldering crisp.

Good quality, hard to clean but overal great product..
