This is a great replacement cable for the Garmin GPS original cable that comes with the unit when you purchase it new. Here is what happened to me...I brought my GPS unit inside to charge, and when I hooked it up to a 5volt power supply, the GPS stated something like, "Please use the correct cable - charging will not take place with this cable". What?! Really?! Do you mean to tell me that someone has actually figured out how to tell the difference in a cable from an original Garmin cable, to a generic cable?! Wow. I am impressed. And at the same time, disappointed. I have no idea of what the difference could possible be.In any event, I went onto Amazon and selected this cable, which claimed to be a replacement for a Garmin GPS cable. And it was and is. My Garmin GPS immediately went into charging mode with no more comments from the GPS telling me that it does not like the cable. I did not even bother to check out a "real Garmin cable", because I felt the price would probably be too high.Bottom line - this cable works as it should. My Garmin GPS charges like it should. The cable is nice and long. I like that. And the price was right. Great purchase. Would do it again without even thinking about it. And yeah - purchased with my own money. Thanks!
